Notes for Samuel Ivins and Rachel Harker

1801 Samuel Ivins purchased land with a grist mill from Nathan Borden and wife Mary, (perhaps receiving release of dower rights). Mary had been the widow of Solomon Ivins, deceased. All were of Upper Freehold Twp, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The grist mill was on Layhaway? Creek. Solomon had purchased the mill from Joseph Biddle and Richard Francis in 1784. Deed dated October 9, 1801. [1]

1801 Samuel Ivins, sadler of Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, sold his half share of a grist mill on Lahaway Creek, to Samuel Emley. Samuel and Thomas Ivins, inherited the mill by the will of their father, Solomon Ivins deceased. The will was dated December 14, 1790. The deed was dated October 9, 1801. [2]

1803 Samuel Ivins and Rachel Harken were married on March 10, in Burlington, New Jersey. [3]

1803 John Antrim sold land to Samuel Ivins, saddler, both of Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey, for $120. Dated April 23. The land was a lot in New Egypt at a fork in the road leading to Hopkin's grist mill, next to the saddler's shop, Thomas Williams, and Mary Wright. [4]

1803 Samuel Ivins sold land to William Millgus?, both of Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey, for $230. Dated April 23. The land was the same lot, or adjacent to it, that Samuel bought from John Antrim the same day. Signed by Samuel and Rachel Ivins. [5]

1809 Samuel Ivins and wife Rachel, daughter of John Harker, sold land to Daniel Harker. Dated June 27. [6]
