There are records for several people named John and Elizabeth Newcomer, which have not yet been distinguished from each other.

1761 John Newcomer, of Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, purchased land from James Webb. Deed dated December 3. [1]

1762 John Newcomer and wife Elizabeth, of Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, sold land to Joseph Sherrick. John Newcomer had purchased the land from James Webb in 1761. [2]

1762 John Newcomer and wife Elizabeth, of Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, sold land to Henry Heistand. John Newcomer had purchased the land from James Webb in 1761. [3]

1765 A 70 acre tract from the estate of Joseph Gogenhour, deceased, was sold to Christian Kauffman and wife Barbara, eldest daughter of Joseph Gogenhour. Eldest and only son Joseph Gogenhour, also deceased, had refused purchase through his guardian John Hoover. Distribution was made to the other heirs: representatives of eldest son Joseph eceased, Abraham Kassel and frena his wife, John Newcomer and Elizabeth his wife, Elizabeth Gogenhour, and Joseph Gogenhour (youngest son). Dated July 1. [4]

c 1766 A deed named Feronica [deceased?] as a sister of Peter Musselman. Peter Musselman died without issue. Samuel Herr, David Herr, Christian Kauffman (alias Coffman) and Barbara his wife, John Newcomer and Elizabeth his wife (the said Samuel, David, Barbara, and Elizabeth being the children of Frena one of the Sisters of the said Peter Musselman deceased) were named. Land from Peter Mussleman's estate was sold, on October 9, 1766, to Melchor Henneberger, by many of the heirs of his estate. [5]

1773 There were three entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County. [7]

1779 There were five entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: shick?, G.S., jun, nothing, stiller. [8]

1779 There were five entries for John Newcomer on the septennial census for Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: nothing, Jn, Smith, Which, nothing. [9]

1781 There were six entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: weaver, shick?, jn, Blacksmith, jn, G smith. [10]

1783 There were four entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: Wright Road, Thick?, weaver, Tavern. [11]

1785 There were three entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: weaver, shick?, half way. [12]

1786 There were three entries for John Newcomer on the tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: Wight Road, weaver, shick?. [13]

1786 There were three entries for John Newcomer on the septennial census for Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, labeled: Wright Road, Weaver, thick. [14]

1788 John Newcomer died in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [15] [16]

1790 John Newcomer lived in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County. Adjacent listings included Jacob Bower and Henry Wolfe. [17]

1790 Widow Newcomer lived in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County. Adjacent listings included John Shoener and Jacob Kintch. [18]

1793 There were two entries for John Newcomer and one entry for widow Newcomer on the septennial census for Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County. [19]

1798 John Newcomer was on the direct tax list in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County, on Wright's road adjacent Jacob Bower. [20] There were also other listings. [21] [22] [23] Jacob Heistand, schoolmaster, was listed as adjacent to John Newcomer. [24]

1800 There were two entries for John Newcomer on the septennial census for Hempfield Twp, Lancaster County labeled: nothing, stiller. [25]

1770 John Newcomer, of Warwick Twp, Lancaster County, wrote his will. [26]

1800 John Newcomer was listed in the census in Columbia Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [27]

1805 John Newcomer, of Hempfield Twp, dated his will on October 23, 1802. The will gave bequests to Jacob Seitz of the Mennonist Society and to seven children: Barbara wife of John Hertzler, Elizabeth wife of John Forrer, Mary Stauffer, Ann wife of Jacob Hirshey, John Newcomer, Christian Newcomer, and Susannah wife of Peter Reitzel. The will was affirmed on February 16, 1805. [28]

Seven wills have been abstracted for John Newcomer, and three for Elizabeth Newcomer, in Lancaster County. [29]
