1832 Hepsibah H. Stone was buried in the East Berkshire Congregational Cemetery, East Berkshire, Franklin County, Vermont. The inscription on her monument states, "In Memory of Hepsibah H. wife of Uriah Stone who died May 4, 1832, in the 88th year of her age." [4]

1807 Several histories of Piermont, New Hampshire, report that on Uriah Stone's gravestone in the River Road Cemetery in Piermont is the quaint memorial epitaph common in that day, "You may go home and dry your tears, I must lie here till Christ appears." Reportedly died 7 April, 1807 in Peirpont County, New Hampshire.
"Major Uriah Stone came from Hampstead, N.H., about 1763, and located first on the Connecticut river meadow near the Bedel bridge in Haverhill. His log house was carried off by the next spring freshet, and he built him another log cabin in Piermont. He served in the old French war in his youth, and married Hepzibah Hadley. Major Stone cleared and cultivated a large farm, erected a tannery, and established a ferry across the Connecticut. At his death in 1807 he left twelve children, all married and with children of their own. His son George Washington Stone was the father of Malvina Stone. The latter was the wife of the Rev. William Arthur, D.D., and mother of ex-president Chester A. Arthur." [5]

"Uriah Stone was born in Piermont, N.H., in 1748, and died there in 1810. He served under Colonel Timothy Bedel in 1775; was one of the Guard at Haverhill, N.H., in 1776, and was Corporal under Captain John Sloan at Bennington, Vt. in 1777. He married Hepzibah Hadley and had a large family. About 1800 five of the sons - John, Samuel, Benjamin, George Washington, and James Stone - moved to Berkshire, Vt. George Washington Stone had a daughter, Malvina, born April 29, 1802, in Berkshire, Vt., who married William Arthur, a young Irishman, and named her second son Chester Abell, for the husband of her cousin, Abigail, granddaughter of Benjamin and Hannah Corliss Stone." Chester Alan Arthur, "21st president of the United States, was born at Fairfield, Franklin county, Vt., Oct. 5, 1830, the eldest son of William and Malvina (Stone) Arthur. His father was educated in Ireland, a graduate of Belfast college, who came to America and settled in Vermont where he became a Baptist preacher. His maternal grandfather, Uriah Stone, was a pioneer settler of New Hampshire, who located in Piermont about 1763." [10]
