Notes for Simon J. Stone and Tabitha Shurtleff

1796 Tabitha, daughter of John and Patience (Chubbuck) Shurtleff, was born on June 24 in Ellington, Connecticut. [1] [2]

1825 Simon Stone and Tabathy Shirtlif were married on December 12 in Moretown, Washington County, Vermont by Cephus Carpenter, Justice of the Peace. [3] [4]

1850 Simeon Stone, a mason (age 53), lived in Waterbury, Washington, Vermont with Clarisa Stone (age 52), Albert (age 25, a mason), Mary (age 18), Ellen (age 16), John S (age 14), and Clarisa (age 12), Simeon was born in Massachusetts, Clarisa (age 52) birth place blank, others born in Vermont. [5]

1860 Simon Stone (a mason, age 63) lived in Waterbury, Washington, Vermont with Eliza Stone (age 63), Albert Stone (carpenter and joiner, age 33), and Ellen A. (age 23, a domestic). Simon, Albert and Ellen were born in Vermont and Eliza was born in Connecticut. [6]

1869 Simon Stone died on March 4 at age 73 in Waterbury, Washington, Vermont and was buried in Village cemetery (now Hope Cemetery in Waterbury). [7] [8]

1870 Eliza Stone (without occupation, age 73, born in CT, with value of real estate $1100) lived in Waterbury, Washington, Vermont with Lorenze Bryant (age 34, a joiner, color black, born in Virgina), Ellen Briggs (age 32, keeping house), and Addie Briggs (age 7), both born in Vermont. [9]

1877 "Eliza (Shurtleff) Stone" died of "old age" on June 23 at age 81 in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont. [10]
