1745 On 15 April, Samuel Cheshire, perhaps this one, was a freeholder in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. [1]

1768 William Wood and wife Anne, of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, sold land to William Wood. The land was in the townships of Chesterfield and New Hanover, Burlington County, New Jersey. William Wood had inherited the 267 acre tract by the will of his father John Cheshire, dated January 1, 1735. The tract was adjacent to lands of Joseph Bullock, John Bullock, Judiah Williams, the old Indian line, Abraham Chapman, and Thomas Harrison, and Hopewell Creek. The deed was dated August 27, 1768.
