1668 "Samuell Gifford was borene in Septr Anno Dom 1668" in Norwich, Connecticut. [2]

1670/71 "Hannah Gifford was borne in the seauenteenth of Janyary Anno: 1670" in Norwich, Connecticut. [3]

1670/71 "Hannah the wife of Stephen Gifford died the 24th of January Ano: 1670" in Norwich, Connecticut. [4]

1672 "The marryage of Stephen Gifford with Hannah Gallop the Daughter of John Gallop of Stonington was upon the 12 day of May Ano: Dom 1672" in Norwich, Connecticut. [5]

The names & ages of their Children is as followeth
John Gifford was borne in Aprill Ano Dom 1673
Ruth Gifford was borne the 30th of Desemr Anno: Dom 1676
Stephen Giffored was borne upon the 28ty of Agust Ano: Dom 1679
Aquilla Gifford was borne upon the 23 of Octobr Ano Dom 1682

1718 Stephen Giffard of Norwich wrote his will on March 27. [6] [7]

In the Name of god Amen: I Stephen Gifford of Norwich being in the seventy six yeare of my Age: but through the goodness of god of perfect memory and understanding: and Considering the dispensations of God Towards my selfe and my wife: And the state of my sons familys: and that myself and wife be chargeable to Them: I doe therefore se cause to make and ordaine this to be my Last Will and Testement In Manner and forme following: viz: first I committ my soule to god who gave it me beseeching him to Accept the same through the meritts of mediation of his son: and my alone savior Jesus Christ: my body to be decently buried by my Executors hereafter named
Item I will that all my just debts & funeral charges be paied first
Item I giue unto the children of my sone Samuell Gifford deseased viz to the tow sons samuel and Jeremiah forty shillings apeece And to the fiue daughters twenty shillings apeece all in money or equeffelent to money
Item I giue unto my daughter Hanah The wife of Samuell Calken to what I have formerly giuen her the sum of fiue pounds of money or as money
Item I giue unto my daughter Ruth the wife of Jeremiah Fitch To what I haue forerly giuen her the sum of fiue pounds money or as moneyItem I giue to my Son Eguella a fether bed with the beding belonging to it: allso an iyron pott and a ____ brass cittell
Item I giue unto my wife twenty pounds in the mouefables to be at hur sole dispose I will that my sons John Stephen and Equella do take care of my wife after my disease and prouide all things needfull for hur comfort so long as she live I giue the rest of my Estate both personall and Reall not before desposed of I giue and bequeath to my sons John Stephen and Equella To them and their heirs for ever: I constitute and apoint my sons John and Stephen aboue Named Sole Exectors of this my Last sill and testiment: In Testimoney of all which I have hereunto set my hand and seall In Norwich March the 27/1718
