Research Notes:

Some researchers have suggested that Richard Dart was from Devonshire, son of Richard Dart and his wife Phillipa Spearke. The following records show two marriages for a man or men named Richard Dart in the early 1630s in Devonshre. The Richard Dart who married Phillipa Spearke in Churston Ferrers had a son named Richard baptized in 1634. However, there are two marriages, one in the mid 1650s and another in the mid 1660s in Churston Ferrers for a Richard Dart, followed by baptisms of children there, including a daughter named Phillipa. These records suggest that the Richard Dart who was baptized in 1634 in Churston Ferrers may have remained there. If so, he was not the immigrate who arrived in Connecticut by 1664.
