1718 Robert Schooley, son of William and Elizabeth Schooley, was born on the 9th day of ye 6th month 1718. [1] [2]

1747 On 14 of 8 month, Robert Scholey and Elizabeth Young, both of Morris County, were married. Witnessed by William Schooley, Elizabeth Schooley, Thomas Schooley, and others [3]. Their marriage was reported at Woodbridge Meeting [4]. Robert's father William Schooley was reportedly a son of Thomas and Sarah Schooley. Names three children with birthdates, last born 1758. [5] [6]

1754 On 27 of month 6, James Brotherton and Alice Schooley were married at Mendham. Witnessed by Robert Schooley and others. [7]

1758 The Mendham meeting house was built on the land of Robert Schooley. [8] [9]

1760 On 27 of month 11, Jacob Bonnell and Mary Schooley both of Mendham, were married at Mendham, Morris County. Witnessed by Elizabeth and Robert Schooley and others. [10]

Robert Schooley, son of William, built the first gristmill in the township, at Mill Brook. [11]

Research Notes:

There may have been several different men named Robert Schooley, so some of these notes might not be for this Robert Schooley, son of William Schooley and Elizabeth French.

1752 On 9th day of 1st month, Robert and Elizabeth Schooley came to Kingwood monthly meeting from Woodbridge. [12] [13]

1753 On 8th day of 11th month, Robert and wife Elizabeth Schooley requested a certificate from the Kingwood monthly meeting to rejoin the Woodbridge meeting, from whence they were lately recommended to the Kingwood meeting. [14]

1758 Robert Schooley of Mendam, Morris County, sold land for the Quaker Church and a burying ground. Witnessed by William Schooley Sr. [15] [16]

1760 On 27 November, William Schooley Jr and Elizabeth Dell, were married in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Witnessed by Robert Schooley and others. [17]

1768-69 Robert Schooley purchased a forge from Josiah Beman and sold it to Joseph Jackson. [18]
