1658 Patience, daughter of Richard Holbrook, was born on December 19 in Milford, Connecticut. [4]

1678 Patience Holbrook and Joseph Wheeler were married in June by Joseph Treat. [5] [6] [7]

1679 Patience, daughter of Joseph Wheeler, was born on June 7 in Milford, Connecticut. [8]

1680/81 Anna, daughter of Joseph Wheeler, was born on February 20 in Milford, Connecticut. [9]

1683 Joseph, son of Joseph Wheeler, was born on December 1 in Milford, Connecticut. [10]

1726 Joseph Wheeler dated his will in Newark, New Jersey, on June 21, 1726; probate date September 15, 1727. [11]:

Will Of Joseph Wheeler.

In the Name of God amen The Twenty first day of June year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred Twenty Six I Joseph Wheeler of Newark in the County of Essex & Province of New Jersey Yeoman being very sick and weak in Body but of Perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye to make this my last will and testament That is to say Principally & first of all I give & Recommend my soul into the hands of god that gave it and for my Body I Recommend to the earth to be Buried in a Christian & Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors Nothing Doubting but at the Generall Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I Give Devise & bequeath of the same in the following maner & form, Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my wife Durcas Wheeler the sum of forty shillings in Bills or Current money of Connecticut Item I give demise & bequeath unto Eldest son Joseph Wheeler four hundred pounds in Bills of Creditt or Current money of Connecticut aforesd Together with all my Last Purchase Division of Lands in bounds of Milford as yett undivided & also my right in the Commonage in Milford & sequestered Land in Milford also my right of Lands in Notting Town in the Naraganst together with all my Right of Lands at Port Royall Together with all my Lands & Moveables in Newark the same to be and Remain to him his heirs & assigns forever, Item I give to my son Justice Wheeler the sum of twenty shillings in the mentoned Currency to be paid with two years after my decease together with all my husbandry Tools that with what he hath had before is his Share: Item I give unto my son Obadiah Wheeler the sum of Twenty shillings to be paid within two years after my Decease in the above Currency that with what he has had before is his part of Inheritance, Item I Give unto my Daughter Patience Burnet the Sum of fifty shillings in the abovesd Currency to be paid within two years after my decease Item I give unto my Daughter Keziah Beardeslice the sum of Twenty Shillings to be paid within two years after my decease in the above said Currency Item I give unto my son in law Samuel Farrand the sum of twenty shillings to be paid within Two years after my Decease in the abovesd Currency. Item all the Remaining Part of my moveable Estate not before Disposed of after Just Debts & funerall Charges be Paid & Discharged, I give & bequeath unto my said Son Joseph Wheeler whom I also appoint & Constitute Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly Revoke Disanull and make void all and any other will or wills heretofore made & Executor & Executors by me heretofore ordained or made Ratifying allowing & Holding for form & natural Disclared this & no other to be my Last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal the day & year above written

The day and year first written came before me Joseph Crane One of the Majesty Justices of the Peace for the County of Essex in New Jersey Joseph Wheeler within mentioned and acknowledged the within written Instrument to be his act & deed as Attest. Joseph Crane Newark 15th Septemr- 1727 Then personally appeared before me Michael Kearny Suit: appointed by his Excellancy Wm. Burnet Esqr- Cap*- GenL & Govr- in Chief of New Jersey &c. Jonathan Conger & Samuel Beech two of the Evidences to the within Last Will and Testament who being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God did Depose that they saw Joseph Wheeler the Testator within mentioned Sign Seal Publish and Declare the within written Instrument as his Last Will and Testament and That he was at the same time of Sound mind and memory as far as they know or believed and saw the other Evidence sign it as such.
