1757 Elizabeth Reed, daughter of Nelson and Rebecca Reed, was born on February 12, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. [1] [2] [3] [4]

1783-1794 Joseph Marle was taxed in Fairfax County, Virginia. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

1807 Elizabeth was named as the wife of Joseph Marle. Solomon Groves wrote a complaint against the estate of Nelson Reed disputing the payment and lack of title to Clark's Inheritance. The complaint named Nelson Reed's sons Nelson, James, William, Sanders, Isaac, and John Reed and daughters Rebeckah Lloyd the wife of Richard Lloyd, Ann Torrison the wife of John Torrison, Dinah Dudley the wife of Jospeh Dudley, Jane Buley the wife of Mahlon Buley, and grandchildren by a daughter Elizabeth who married one Joseph Marle, to wit Rebeckah Lawrence, a widow, Hannah Marle, Elizabeth Marle, and David Marle. 1782 Joseph Marle appeared on the list of William Ramsay for the continental census for Fairfax County, Virginia with 5 white people. [13]

1663 On 17 July, "Merely"—300 acres, surveyed July 7, 1663, for Joseph Morely. [14]

1663 On 17 July, "Trent"—450 acres, surveyed July 17, 1663, for Joseph Marley. [15]

1666 "John Giles, planter, emigrated to Maryland as a a freeman sometime prior to May 1666 when he assigned the fifty acres due to him to John Gray and Joseph Marley and settled in Anne Arundel County near the West River. It is unknown whether Giles arrived in Maryland as a Quaker; however it is likely that he was converted to the faith by the flourishing community of Friends along the West River Meeting as early as 1668 when the birth of his daughter Elizabeth was recorded" [16]

1800 This is Joseph Morley, still alive in 1810, so not the spouse of Rebecca. Joseph Marley lived in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in a household with males: 2 (16 thru 25) and 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (under 10), 1 (16 thru 25), and 1 (45 and over). Christopher Black, Sarah Card, Benjamin Shipley, and Caleb Dorsey were listed nearby. [17]

1810 Note that Joseph, spouse of Rebecca was already dead. Joseph Mauley lived in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 3 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 1 (16 thru 25), 1 (26 thru 44), and 1 (45 and over). Christopher Black, Sarah Cora, Benjamin Shipley, and Caleb Dorsey were listed nearby. [18]
