Notes for Samuel Schooley and Sarah Mary Albertson

1761 Samuel Schooley was granted a certificate from the Kingwood, New Jersey meeting, for himself his wife and children (two daughters, viz Phebe and Ann were named in the previous meeting records), and their daughter Phebe Myers, and Jonathan Myers and his wife and children, to recommend them to Fairfax meeting in Virginia. Dated 9d of 4m 1761.

1769 Samuel Schooley wrote his will, dated May 10, 1769. Wife Sarah was to receive the plantation and house in Loudoun County, Virginia, held by leave from George William Fairfax. Son John Schooley was to receive the plantation upon the death of Sarah. Daughter Mary Myers received a payment from son John. Sons John and William were made executors. A side note bequeathed 10 pounds to each of daughter Ann Hague, son Samuel Schooley, and Phebe Myers. [3] [4]

1777 Samuel Schooley made an addendum to his will, dated February 5, 1777. Son John Schooley was to make a payment to daughter Phebe Myers. [5]

1782 Samuel Schooley's will was proved on November 12, 1782. It was affirmed by William Brown and George Tevernor (Quakers). John Schooley was one of the executors. [6]

1782 The inventory for Samuel Schooley was dated December 6, in Loudoun County, Virginia. [7]

Research Notes:

The ancestry through Robert Schooley is not clear. We seek further documentation to clarify the parents of this Samuel Schooley.
