Gertrude Neff married Emil Enos Buffington and had a son named Emil Nelson Buffington. Gertrude Neff Buffington died soon after the birth of her son.

1895 [Emil Buffington's parents] EM Buffington (age 48) and AM Buffington (age 37), both born in Indiana, lived in Maple, Cowley County, Kansas with daughter M Buffington (age 6, born in Kansas). [1]

1900 [Emil Buffington's grand-parents] Abram Hill (age 79) and Minerva Hill (age76) lived in Center Twp, Dearborn County, Indiana. [2]

1910 Gertrude Neff (age 9, born in Indiana, single), daughter, lived in Anderson Ward 3, Madison County, Indiana, in a household with Hal Neff (age 40), Ella Neff (age 39), Archie Neff (age 17), and Mary Neff (age 4). Gertrude Neff's father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Pennsylvania. [3]

1910 Minerva Hill (widow age 85) lived in Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana. Daughter Althea Buffington (age 53) lived with her. Grandchildren Minerva (age 21) and Emel (age 14) Buffington, both born in Kansas, also lived with her. [4]

1917 Emil Buffington, born on March 17, 1895, registered for the draft in Dearborn County, Indiana. He lived in Manchester, Aurora, Indiana and was born in Udall, Kansas. He was a wheelworker for the Hayer Wheel Co in Anderson, Indiana. He was single and supported his mother. He was slender, tall, had blue eyes and brown hair. [5]

1920 Gertrude Neff (age 14, born in Indiana, single), daughter, lived in Anderson Ward 3, Madison County, Indiana, in a household with Nelson H Neff (age 50), Ella Neff (age 49), and Mary Neff (age 14). Gertrude Neff's father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Pennsylvania. Gertrude Neff could read and write. Gertrude Neff was a sodderer. [6]

1920 Ermin Buffington (age 25) was a boarder living in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. He was single and was born in Indiana. His occupation is difficult to read but might be wheelery, Hayer Wheel. [7]

1920 Emil Buffington, son of Enos Buffington and Altha Hill, and Gertrude Neff, daughter of Nelson Neff and Ella M. Borenzer [Brenizer?], were married on January 3 in Madison County, Indiana. [8] [9]

1921 Gertrude Neff Buffington died on July 22 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio. Gertrude, daughter of Nelson Hall Neff and Ella [Brenizer], was born on February 15, 1901 in Anderson, Indiana. She was buried at Maplewood Cemetery. [10] [11]

1922 Emil Buffington and Edith French Laross were married on September 23 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. Emil Buffington, son of Enos Buffington and Altha Hill, was born in 1895 in Udall, Kansas. [18]

1930 Emil Buffington (age 9 born in New York) lived in Cincinnati, Ohio in the household of Florence Curry. His father was born in Kansas and mother in Indiana. Alptha Buffington (age 72) was widowed and living as a servant in the same household. Alptha and her parents were all born in Indiana. [19]

2013 Son Emil Buffington died on December 24 in Illinois. Emil Buffington was born on August 5, 1920 in Newark, NY, son of Emil Enos Buffington and Gertrude Neff. [25] [26]
