1752 Christian Schwartz applied to emigrate to Pennsylvania from the district of Freudenstadt, Württemberg, Germany in April 1752. He was born in Kaelbersbronn. [1] Pfalzgrafenweiler is a town in the district of Freudenstadt in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Between 1972 and 1975, the municipalities of Bösingen, Durrweiler, Edelweiler, Herzogsweiler, and Kälberbronn were added to Pfalzgrafenweiler.

1753 Christian Schwartz immigrated to Philadelphia. [2]

1769 Christan Swarts was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [3]

1769 Magdalena Good was named as a daughter of Christian Good, and as married to Christian Shwartz, in a deed between her mother, Magdalena, and her oldest brother, John. [4] [5] [6]

1769-82 Christian Swartz, weaver (1769), was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for 18 acres and 2 cattle. [7] [8][9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15]

1778-1780 The names of several sons and sons-in-law of Christian Good appeared on a list of fines (cash received of delinguents for non-performance of militia duty and exercise) in Lancaster County [16] [17] in Col. David Jenkin's Battalion [18]: Michael Wenger; Henry, Jacob, and Peter Good; Christian Swartz [19]; Henry Good; Samuel, Peter, Jacob, Christian Good; and George Klopper.

1778 Christian Schwartz subscribed the Oath or the Affirmation of Allegiance and Fidelity in Lancaster County, on May 21. [20]

1779 Christian Swartz was listed in the Pennsylvania septennial census at Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County. [21]

1783 Christian Swartz and wife Magdalena, of Brecknock, sold land in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, to Robert Mathers. Deed dated July 20. The land, on East branch of Muddy Creek, Carnarvan Twp, had been warranted by Robert Warburton in 1737. [22] The land had been patented in 1768 by William Morris. [23] Christian Swartz purchased part of the land in 1768, and another part from Joseph and Cathrina Wanger in 1773. Witnessed by George Hober and Zaccheus Davis. [24]

1783-1786 Christian Swartz moved from Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County to Lower Paxton Twp, Dauphin County.

1786 Christian Swartz purchased land from Magdalena's brothers Samuel Good and Christian Good, and others, who were named as heirs in the will of Joseph Brand. Anna Brand, widow of Joseph Brand, deceased, late of Paxton Twp, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and John Brand and Freny his wife & Joseph Brand & Samuel Brand all of the same state and John Oberholtser & Elizabeth his wife & John Gingery & Freny his wife both of the township of Lebanon & Christian Good & Barbara his wife and Samuel Good & Mary his wife and Abraham Brand all of the township of Brecknock in the county of Lancaster & John Roads & Catharina his wife and Magdalena Brand and Susanna Brand & Regina Brand, of one part and Christian Swartz of the township of Paxton, Dauphin County of the other part, were parties to a deed dated March 1. Joseph Brand, deceased, had purchased land from Samuel and Andrew Hannah in 1766. Joseph died intestate and the tract became property of the widow and children of Joseph, parties to the deed, to wit: Anna Brand the widow of the late Joseph Brand, John Brand, Joseph Brand, Samuel Brand, John Oberholser who married Elizabeth one of the daughters, John Gingery who married Freny another daughter, Christian Good who married Barbara another daughter, Abraham Brand, John Road who married Catharina another daughter, Magdalena Brand, Susanna Brand, and Regina Brand. Christian Swartz purchased the tract from the heirs. The tract was bounded by lands of Alexander McClure, John Neisly, Richard McClure, Henry McKinsey, James Harris, John Means?, James Lusk (now Patrick Lusk). Affirmed before the clerk by John Neisly and others and by several of the parties to the deed in in 1792. In 1795, John Eirely and Regina his wife, late Brand, appeared. [25]

1789 Magdalena, the wife of Christian Swartz, was listed as an heir of Christian Good, deceased, in Lancaster County Orphans Court records dated August 5. [28]

1790 Christopher Swerts lived in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. John Neisley was listed on the same page of the census. [29]

1795 Christian Swartz was taxd in Lower Paxton Twp, Dauphin County. [30]

1798 Christian Swartz owned a stone house in Swatara Twp, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, adjacent to John Niesly. [31] [32] [33]

1799 Christley Swartz, farmer, was taxd with 200 acres in Lower Paxton Twp, Dauphin County. [34]

1800 Christley Swartz lived in Lower Paxton Twp, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (16 thru 25), 1 (26 thru 44), 1 (45 and over), 2 (10 thru 15), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 2 (10 thru 15) and 1 (45 and over). Nearby listings included John Mumas, Philip Griner, and Edward Crouch (see 1810 census listing of Jacob Schwartz). [35]

1803 Christian Swartz (Feb 27th 1731 - April 27th 1803) and Magdalena Swartz (Mar 8th 1735 - May 10th 1813) were buried at the Swartz-Nissley cemetery in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. [36] [37] [38] [39] [40]

1843 Jacob Swartz died at age 71 on December 10 and was buried at the Swartz-Nissley cemetery in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. [45] [46]

1844 Christian Swartz Jr died on August 8 and was buried at the Swartz-Nissley cemetery in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He was born on August 4, 1774. [47] [48]

Research Notes:

Magdalena, spouse of Christian Swartz, was the second daughter listed in both the deed and the orphans court record regarding the estate of Christian Good, suggesting that she may have been the second eldest daughter.
