VALDOSTA. Ga., Nov. 4. (Special Of interest in Sarasota is the marriage of Miss Landa Glynn Richards to William Emory Betts here Oct. 30. Judge T. N. Holcombe, Jr. officiated. The bride is daughter of Mrs. Emylu L. Richards and Herman Edward Richards. She was graduated from Sarasota High School and Lakeland Business Institute and has been secretary in Sarasota. Mr. Betts, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Emory Betts of Longboat Key, attended Sarasota High School and served overseas with the Army. He has been employed in the accounting department of Palmer Bank. The couple will live in Charlotte, N. C.

2003 William Emory Betts died on January 5 and was buried at Miakka Cemetery, Old Myakka, Sarasota County, Florida. William Emory Betts was born on June 7, 1934. [21] [22]

William Emory Betts Sr., 68, Sarasota and formerly of Myakka City, died Jan. 5, 2003.

He was born June 7, 1934, in Sarasota. He served in the Army and was a member of Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Dana Beale of Sarasota; sons William E. Jr. of Seattle and Kerry J. of Sarasota; a sister, Anna L. Austin of Bradenton; brothers Robert of Sarasota, Harry of Spring Hill, Tenn., Don of Myakka City and Kenneth of Athens, Ga.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Old Miakka Cemetery after the service.

2011 Landa Glynn Betts died on January 26. Landa Gylnn Betts was born on December 11, 1938. [23] [24]
