1795 John Schooley, of Hamilton County, Ohio, Northwest Territory, sold a lot at the mouth of Deer Creek, Cincinnati to David Wade. The deed was dated on April 20. [1]

1810 Mary Schooley was named as the daughter of Nathaniel Earle of Bergin County, New Jersey in his will. [2]

1833 Mary Schooley died on February 17, at age 67y 3m 13d, and was buried at Old Saint Mary's Cemetery, Springdale, Hamilton County, Ohio. [3] [4]

1833 John Schooley applied for a military pension. [5]

This sold. appld, from Hamilton Co., Ohio 25 Apr. 1833, aged 71 yrs., he voltd. in the Spring of 1779 at Bound Brook, N.J.; entered service at Raritan (now Sommerville, N.J.; serv. 1 yr. under Capt. John Cout (?) Water, Lt. Joseph Cataline (?), and Ensign Cornelius Sedone; marched to Hackensack, Bergen Co.; stayed there guarding line fom Amboy to North River until 1 yr. expired; had no documentary evidence or person to test. to his service. He was b. in Middlebrook, N.J. in 1761, lived at Raritan, N.J., and then moved to Hamilton County, Ohio. …

1834 The will of John Schooley was filed on September 15, 1834 in Springfield, Ohio. Executor Nathaniel Smith Schooley and Thomas Ventuyl. Beneficiaries were Nathaniel Smith Schooley, Stephen Schooley, Mary Ann Schooley, Algeline Schooley, Hannah Reeder, Mary Spinning, Children of Sarah Springman, Elizabeth Yeatman. [6]

1834 John Schooley died on September 23, at age 72y 9m 6d, and was buried at Old Saint Mary's Cemetery, Springdale, Hamilton County, Ohio. [7] [8]

"The first schoolhouse in the northern part of Springfield township was built on land owned by John Schooley (perhaps this John Schooley or his son), a mile and a half west of Springdale." "Among the early merchants (of Springdale) were Stephen Schooley...", perhaps John's son,[9]
