1799 David Brenizer was taxed in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [2]

1800 David Branizer lived in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 2 (under 10) and 1 (16 thru 25). [3] John Branizer, likely David's father, had an adjacent listing. Peter Bricker, age 45+, likely Barbara's father, was listed on the next census page. Samuel Niseley, the father-in-law of son John, also had an adjacent listing.

1800 David Brenizer, renter, was listed on the Pennsylvania septennial census for Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1802 David Brenizer, renter, was taxed in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [5]

1803 David Brenizer was named as of the Dunkard religion at the time he moved to Allen Twp in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [6]

1804 Barbara Bricker's father, Peter, died in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and his will named daughter Barbara, wife of David Brenizer and land bought from Jacob Weise. Jacob Weise was a witness to the will. [7]

1808 David Brenizer was taxed for 165 acres, 4 horses and 4 cows in Allen Twp, Cumberland County. [8]

1809 David Brenizer of Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania gave notice, on October 23, that the bonds he had passed to John Philip Gutshall in consideration of title to land would not be honored, because the title did not pertain to all of the land. [9] [10]

1810 David Brenizer lived in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 10), 2 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 3 (under 10), 2 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [11] Listed on the same page were Christopher Quigley Esq (see 1813 entry) and Frederick Shupe (see 1817 entry).

1810 David Brenizer and wife Barbara of Allen Twp, Cumberland County sold land to Henry Schaffer and Leonard West on April 13. David had purchased the land from the estate of Henry Shaffer on April 18. [12] They sold another tract from the estate on May 13, 1812. [13]

1811 David Brenizer was taxed for 175 acres, 5 horses and 3 cows in Allen Twp, Cumberland County. [14]

1811 David Brenizer of Allen Twp gave notice, on November 15, that the bonds he had passed to William Patterson, now of Virginia, would not be honored. [15]

1813 David Brenizer was a warrantee for 15 acres of land in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania on 30 April. [16] [17] [18]

1813 Land in York and Cumberland County on Yellow Breeches Creek, from the estate of Christopher Quigley, was reported to adjoin that of David Brenizer. [19](See land survey of 1814)

1814 David Brenizer was taxed for 147 acres of patented land, 35 acres Do located, 4 horses and 2 cows in Allen Twp, Cumberland County. [20]

1814 David Brenizer surveyed land in Manheim Twp, York County, on December 30. [21] He received a patent for the land on May 11, 1824. [22] Adjacent tracts were owned by Quigley, heirs of Thomas Clark, and John Calhoon. (See newspaper notice of 1813)

1814 David Brenizer of Cumberland County was appointed commissioner to build a turnpike from Harrisburg bridge to Berlin in Adams County. [23]

1817 David Brenizer witnessed the will of Frederick Shoop (relation unknown), blacksmith, of Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [24]

1817 David Branizer was taxed in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, for 170 acres, 3 horses, and 6 cows. [25]

1820 David Brenizer age 45+ lived in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania with 1 son age 0-10 (Samuel), 2 sons 16-26 (David and John B), 2 daughters age 0-10 (Barbara and?), 1 age 10-16 (Christina), and 2 age 16-26 (?), and wife age 45+. [26]

1821 Barbara Bricker Brenizer's mother died in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and her will mentioned daughter Barbara Brennizer. [27]

1825 David Brenizer's house was mentioned in a description of the boundary of Monroe and Allen Twp in Cumberland County. [28]

1828 "Upon petition of John Beelman by his attorney Fred'k Watts Esqr to the [Cumberland County Orphans' Court, on February 13] therein stating That letters testamentary issued upon the last will of Barbara Brenizer dec'd and upon the last will of Michael Brenizer dec'd to David Brenizer, more than one year ago, and that he has not yet settled an account of the administration of the estate of the said Barbara dec'd nor of the said Michael dec'd and praying the court to award a citation to the said David Branizer to appear at the next orphans court and settle an account of his administration of the said two estates - whereupon the court award a citation agreeably to the prayer of the petitioner." [29] [30]

1828 David Brenizer, acting administrator of the estate of Michael Brenizer late of Allen Twp deceased, came into court on September 29, and produced an account of his administration of the estate. The court passed the same find a balance of [blank space]. [31] [32]

1829 David Brenizer was taxed in Allen Twp, Cumberland County for 170 acres, 6 horses and 4 cows. [33] David Brenizer was not listed on the next (1832) tax list for Allen Twp, Cumberland County.

1830 David Brenizer (age 60-70) lived in Allen Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania with males age 15-20 (Samuel) and age 30-40 (John B, but where are his children?) and females two age 15-20, one age 5-10, three age 20-30 (Christina, Barbara, and wife of John B?) and one age 50-60 (wife Barbara). [34]

1831 The town of Mechanicsburg was laid out by a David Brenizer, perhaps this David Brenizer or his son. "December, 1831 Major Henry Leas and David Brenizer purchased 8 to 10 acres from George Stonespring and laid out 33 lots on the south side of Main St. From that time forward the town continually grew.". [35] [36] [37]

1833 David Brenizer, Jr. purchased land in section 17 of Green Twp, Wayne County, Ohio from James Kaglet. [38]

1833 David Brenizer, perhaps this David or his son David, was appointed postmaster in Smithville, Wayne County, Ohio. [39]

1833-34 David Brenizer purchased land in section 17 of Green Twp, Wayne County, Ohio from George Shipley. [40]

There were many other purchases and sales of land in Wayne County, Ohio by David Brenizer and David Brenizer Jr. [41]

1836 David Brenizer was a trustee in Wayne County, Ohio [42]. David Brenizer put up the first building in Smithville in 1836 [43].

1837-38 A John Brenizer (possibly David's son) was trustee in Franklin Twp, Wayne County, Ohio. [44]

1837 David Brenizer had several lots in Smithville, Wooster County, Ohio and he or his son may have laid out the town of Smithville. "State of Ohio Wayne County S.S. Before me Jacob W. Smucker a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally came David Brenizer Junior and acknowledged the laying out of all that part of the Town of Smithville in said County laying South East of the Public road leading from Wooster to Akron according to the written plat to be his act and Deed. Given under my hand and seal this 10th day of March A. D. 1837. J.W. Smucker Justice of the Peace " [45]

1837 David Brenizer was a developer of Smithville, Ohio, as was his son. [46]

1837-38 David Brenizer made sales of land to 5 families in Smithville, Ohio.

1840 David Brenizer lived in Green Twp, Wayne County, Ohio in a household with males: 2 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (30 thru 39); and females: 1 (under 5), 2 (5 thru 9), 1 (10 thru 14), 1 (30 thru 39), and 1 (60 thru 69). [47] The adjacent listing was for son Samuel age 20-30.

1840 At the April Orphans Court of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, David Brenizer, of Wayne County Ohio, petitioned the court as guardian of John Brenizer and Catherine Brenizer, minor children of Peter Brenizer, deceased of Cumberland County. The children had lived with David Brenizer for five years. Money in the hand of Benjamin Ebarle, of this county, coming to the petitioner's wards needed court authority. [48]

1845 The will of David Brenizer was presented in the Wayne County Court. The will mentioned a wife and children David, Samuel, John, Christiana, Polly, and Barbery Brenizer, Elizabeth Harting, Margaret Yost, Sarah Eberly, & Catharime Baker. Sons Samuel and David Brenizer were named as executors. [49] [50]

1845 David A Brenizer died on June 16 and was buried at Old Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville, Wayne County, Ohio. [51] An obituary reported that David A Brenizer Sr died on August 2, 1845, at age 77, with spouse Barbara Bricker. [52]

1847 Son David Brenizer made a sale of land in Smithville.

1850 Christena Brenizer (age 50, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Green Twp, Wayne County, Ohio, in a household with Barbara Brenizer (age 67), and Barbara Brenizer (age 40). Nearby listings included families of sons David and Samuel Brenizer. [53] [54]

1851 Son David Brenizer made a sale of land in Smithville.

1852-1856 Barbara Brenizer dated her will on September 28. The will named six daughters Barbara Brenizer, Elizabeth Hurting, Christina Breniser, Sarah Eberly, Catharina Baker, and Margaret Yost and three sons David, John, and Samuel. Witnessed by Jacob Ihrig and J Paul. The will was affirmed on April 30, 1856. [55]

1845-56 David and Barbara were buried at Old Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Ohio. David A. Brenizer Sr. 1768-1845 [56]; Barbara Bricker wife of David Brenizer … no date [57]; Barbara daughter of D. and B. … no date; David A Brenizer (1801-1886)[58]; Anna wife of David … died 7 January 1875 (age 69 yrs 3 m). The burial place has also been listed as Old Smithfield Cemetery, Greene Twp, Wayne County, Ohio.

1811 David Brandizer was taxed in Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania for 130 acres (patent 2250). [59] Who was this David?

1814 David Brenizer was taxed for 140 acres of patented land, in East Pennsbro Twp, Cumberland County. [60]

Wife Barbara Bricker was a direct descendent of Hans Bar and Katherina Huber. Her parents were Peter Bricker and Mary Bear.

1875 The Monitor newspaper was sold to a Brenizer, likely a descendant of David.

1860-61 A Samuel Brenizer (likely David's son or grandson) was trustee in Greene Twp.

There are other Brenizer wills (not yet seen) in Wayne County, Ohio: Barbara, Sr. 1856 will #920 W4 #466, Edward A. 1884 will, John, Sr. 1874 estate, Madadlena 1894 will, Theophilus 1852 estate (son of son David).

Deed books in Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio indicate the following: Some deed records for the estate of David Brenizer show the date 1851. Deeds show that David's executors were David Brenizer and Samuel Brenizer. Deeds also show the following names which are probably heirs: Barbara Brenizer, David Brenizer, Samuel Brenizer, John Brenizer, Christina Brenizer, Polly McCracken (Thomas)
