Andrew Zago has practiced architecture in Los Angeles since 1987 and, since 1986 has been a member of the design faculty at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). He recently held a joint visiting position between Cornell University's Department of Architecture and School of Mechanical Engineering. Currently he is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of MichiganŐs College of Architecture and Urban Planning. A native of Detroit, Mr. Zago received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Michigan and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. Among his recent projects is a new design studio facility for Cornell's Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The Cornell Synthesis Studio - recently completed - combines sophisticated computing resources and hands-on machinery in a dynamic architectural setting. He has published widely in such journals as Architecture+Urbanism, l'Arca and Werk, Bauen+Wohnen. He has lectured at schools in the U. S., Europe, and Asia and has exhibited his work in New York, Cornell University, Princeton and Los Angeles.
