As noted on a post on this site (11/3/06... Shlafer talks big, can he back it up) I have been rooting for OSU. Given the last two football games for U of M, there's little to "back up." I made my prediction accurately. I may not be right all the time, but I'm confident all the time. U of M is not in the college football elite. I honestly admit that in the bowl games I rooted all-Big 10, including, of course, U of M. Tonite, my friends, it's OSU. GO BUCKS!!! Say it... It won't kill you... "GO BUCKS!"
Miss y'all.

*Awesome summer research opportunity!*
Looking to recruit a medical student to work in our lab during the summer between their M1 and M2 years as part of UMMS Biomedical Research program. For more information about the program, see the following links:
www.med.umich.edu/medschool/osp/research
www.med.umich.edu/medschool/osp/research/summer_res_2004.ppt
We are a GI physiology lab and our research focuses on hormonally-regulated adaptive growth of the pancreas, with potential medical applications aimed at regeneration in pancreatitis or post-cancer pancreatic resection.
The principal investigator (PI) is Dr. John Williams, a very distinguished yet easy-going, understated guy and, as I can vouch for personally, an awesome mentor.
The project we are most interested in pursuing is well underway; the expression data, the techniques and reagents are all in hand, so whoever decides to undertake the project should be able to 'hit the ground running' so to speak. I would do try it myself, but I've already got my hands full with my own thesis (which is a close tangent of this project, btw). Some experience in a basic research lab is a plus, but we'd welcome anybody who's enthusiastic and willing to learn.
For more specific info, just shoot me a quick e-mail. My name is greg and I'm a 5th year MD/PhD student here at UofM... which most likely means I'll wind up joining your class on the wards. I've taught a couple of small groups and had a really positive impression. Good luck with the GI sequence -- and congrats to the webmaster, this is a really nice website.

Two condos available in Ann Arbor. E-mail Steve at a2condos@hotmail.com for more info.
One for Riverhouse :
2 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom condo available June 2007. $1200/month. This is in the well known Riverhouse condo complex which is located on the Huron River and is in short walking distance to the medical school and hospital (Maiden Lane and Fuller). The beautiful Fuller Park is basically in your backyard and is a perfect place to picnic, play sports, or just enjoy the tranquility of nature. The unit has a dishwasher, new fridge and other upgrades. This complex is extremely well maintained with season touches regularly upkept by staff. Parking, storage, locked bike storage, and a pool are other highlights. Please email for more information. Email Steve at a2condos@hotmail.com today.
One for a downtown condo:
Looking for the finest in downtown Ann Arbor living? New construction 2 bedroom/2 bath loft condo on Liberty and 5th Avenue. This unit is finished to the absolute finest degree with an incredible balcony view over campus, granite counter tops, garaged parking, recreation center, secured entry. 15 foot ceilings, large windows, glass encased master shower, and an open floor plan highlight this chic loft design. Uniquely positioned between State and Main street you are close to everything that downtown has to offer: campus events and culture, fine dining, nightlife, Kerrytown Market, and fine shopping. It is a true one of a kind for Ann Arbor downtown living! Don't make cramped or uncomfortable living an issue while in medical school. I am looking for professionals, visiting professors, etc. This is available JANUARY 2007- it may be possible to end your current lease/rent early (we can negotiate penalties!) $2750 per month. My Umich email gets too much spam so email Steve at a2condos@hotmail.com for more info.

Actually, I just found the essay assignment already on the portal. Our FCE binder says it is due 11/27. The portal has it due on 12/4 (Look at the schedule for that day, you'll see it.) So when is it really due???

Heya - congrats, it looks great (on IE in any case, haven't tried mozilla)! I had a few questions on accessibility though (esp since the "accessibility" link is not active):
Is it possible to get it so that when we hover over a link, the link displays? Or else an html version of the page? I really hate being redirected to other pages when I just want to navigate this site internally.
And frame navigation makes hard linking and navigation in general more difficult...
Finally, if you're going to use frames, please allow the frame to be resized or brought to the edge of the page - having only small portions of the page actually filled with text and having the scroll within such a small space makes reading difficult.
... oh, and can this message post space be larger? I can see only 3x20 characters at a time, which is tiny.
Again, congrats on a pretty site (the comments/critique are only because I've done my share of web design in my undergrad and high school days)
