(*)  Maximal possible train length in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Baku (in standard 19-meter cars):

                         4 cars – Butovskaya line (Moscow),

                         5 cars – Red and Green lines (Baku),

                         6 cars – Filevskaya line (Moscow) and Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya and Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya lines (St. Petersburg),

                         7 cars – Purple line (Baku),

                         8 cars – all the other lines in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

(**)  Articulated cars are employed on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, Filevskaya, Koltsevaya, and Butovskaya lines in Moscow and on Tsentralnaya line in Kazan.  Each articulated car is 1.4 times the length of a standard 19-meter car.  Trains consist of 5 articulated cars on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Koltsevaya lines, 4 articulated cars on Filevskaya line, and 3 articulated cars on Butovskaya and Tsentralnaya lines.  Approximate equivalent lengths in standard cars are indicated in the “Train length by line” column of the table for these five lines.
