• Time and Location: TWThF 10:00am-12:00pm at Room 1068 East Hall.

• Office hour: Monday from 12:00-2:00pm, Friday 12:00-1:00pm, and by appointment.

Homework and Exams

• Homework: Homework will be assigned every week on the website www-personal.umich.edu/~xch/, and will be collected a week later; it is your responsibility to check the website regularly for the up-to-date assignment. Please note that no late homework will be accepted.

• Quizzes: Quizzes are given every other week, usually on Tuesdays. No make-up quiz will be given. In the final grade the lowest score will be dropped.

• Exams: There will be two midterms and a final exam. The schedule for the exams is as follows:

Missed exam is counted as zero; only in very rare circumstances make-up exams will be given, such as an illness with the proof from the hospital or doctor which explicitly says you are preventing from taking the exam. Please note that make-up exams are always harder than the original ones since the routine problems will be used up.

• Grading: The final grade is composed of as follows:

• Math Help: If you need some help on your math study, please come to my office hour or by appointment. You may also go to the Mathematics Laboratory, located in the basement of East Hall (enter from the Mathematics Department Entrance), where our graduate students will be very glad to answer any of your math questions.
