        for. Note the following exception for 1974 California cases:  Rs who  
        gave the party of their vote BUT who gave an 'incorrect' [or DK/NA]   
        name could not be traced to their congressional district number which 
        was in effect after the 1974 redistricting in CA, so that party of    
        winning candidate was unknown:  all such cases have been coded 2 here 
        [25 cases].                                                           
                                                                              
        This var was built using 'winner' var 1014 (except 1974 [for 1974,    
        outside sources were used]).                                          
                                                                              
        Note:  the winners in the 1974 California House congressional races   
        which were mistakenly overlooked in the past release have been        
        restored here.  (Note, however, that 1974 California data for VCF1014 
        'Who Won' is not recoverable.)                                        
                                                                              
        WARNING:  The procedures used in the creation of the VCF1014 'winner' 
        var produced data that have been checked somewhat, but perfect        
        accuracy cannot be completely guaranteed due to the nature of         
        attempting coding from reference material.  The possibility of some   
        error must be recognized and the 'winner' established in VCF1014      
        --and, as a further result, data in VCF1013 (which has been built     
        using 'winner' data) -- should be used with caution and at the user's
