I am a doctoral candidate in the philosophy department at the University of Michigan. I primarily think about political philosophy -- problems of global justice in particular. I'm currently interested in exploring the political philosophy/social science interface; viz., how paying close attention to positive political theory would (and should) reshape debates in the global justice literature. Not surprisingly, then, I spend a considerable amount of time in the political science department trying to learn something about game theory, international relations, and political economy. I occasionally contribute to the UM philosophy grad student blog, GoGrue!
Prior to arriving in Ann Arbor, I studied philosophy, history, and English literature at Brock University. I then made my way to Texas A&M, where I completed an M.A. in philosophy. While there, I wrote a thesis on liberal political morality under the direction of Derrick Darby, Colleen Murphy, and Elisabeth Ellis.
