Here I am entertaining at the department spring picnic and singing with some prehistoric back-up singers at the EEB holiday party

Creative Science:

I enjoy writing songs and drawing pictures about science and academia. One of my favorite activities is coming up with songs to sing at the Department Holiday party when we always have karaoke. Highlights from years past include, "Almost Parasites" (Almost Paradise), "Pseudogene" (Billie Jean), "I need a Postdoc" (Under the Boardwalk), "Bacterial Girl" (Material Girl) for my cohort-mate, roommate and friend Heather Adams, and "Genome" (Alone).

I also have original songs:
Human-Chimp Hybrid Song mp3
Endurance Running shaped human evolution Song
The best lab tech Song
Seminar of my dreams mp3 video
Grad student researcher blues
Fictional Genomics
Gregor Mendel's Secret Lover
