Shape modeling of void structure via surface diffusion, migration and initial geometry value

Abstract

Micro- or nano- scale structure can be used as a variety of applications depending on structural shape changes. When it comes to the applications, we can think of nanowire in Lithium-ion battery, quantum dot in display, nano rod in superhydrophobic surface and so on. In our project, we tried to consider the physics during the micro structure evolution, and ultimately make the void structure inside by changing several parameters relevant to structural evolution through computational simulation. Our group compares two competing factors in terms of surface migration and surface diffusion to check how it evolves as time passes. Moreover, we observed how differently each structure is formed depending on the aspect ratio of initial geometry values.
