Abstract

The purpose of this project is to study the formation of iron catalytic nano-particle which plays an important role in Carbon Nano Tube(CNT) growth. By modeling one specific iron particle formation from the thin film, we show that the thin film tends to minimize its surface area and finally form a droplet shape. Moreover we simulated this particle formation in terms of different annealing temperature and initial thickness of film, then figure out the relative running time to form a droplet particle at last.
