Subject: Drop-in Doubles

Here's the basic idea . . . Would you be interested in participating this summer
in "drop-in doubles"?
WHO: Adult players with a 3.0-3.5 skill level
WHEN: Wednesday and Sunday, 6 pm to ??
WHERE: TBD - Possibly Pioneer High School or Buhr Park (next to Cobblestone
Farm)
HOW: One set = 5 no-add games (to help switch in other people),
Recreational only

Interested? If so, reply to tcvenable@att.net. Pick one of the following levels
of interest.
A = Yes, I'd really be interested and could imagine participating at least
half of the time.
B = Yes, but I imagine that I would make it less than half the time.
C = Nice idea, but I'm so busy in the summer that I doubt if I would make it.

I just need to see if we can get enough of a critical mass to see if this could
work. Thanks, Tom Venable.

PS: Tom is an AAACTA member who would like to organize this. Sounds like fun!
Please reply to Tom and he'll take it from there.

Subject: Help Keep AAACTA Youth Tennis Programs Afloat

Did you know that the main mission of AAACTA is to provide tennis opportunities
to young people? The primary source of funding for our youth programs is through
the generosity of our annual City Tournament sponsors. Can you help us find
sponsors for this year's City Tournament? You can help in any of the
following ways:

1: Volunteer a bit of time and contact a few of last year's sponsors about
donating again. We'll provide details, marketing materials, and instructions to
anyone volunteering to do this.

2: Provide suggestions or leads on potential individual or corporate sponsors.

3: Make a small [or large] tax-deductible donation yourself.

Click here to see Sponsor Information Brochure

If you have questions or would like to help, please contact Ray Burke [AAACTA
Board Member] at 734-476-4973 or e-mail rayburke@umich.edu.

Thank you very much.

Subject: Tennis Ladder
Looking for some challenging tennis matches this summer? If you don't
want to be constrained by the preset times of a league, consider
joining a tennis ladder. In the ladder, each match will be arranged
by the players themselves, so there is no fixed schedule. The ladder
is for adult players of all levels. Your position on the ladder will
be determined by the outcome of your matches against others on the
ladder. Information and results will be handled via e-mail and
possibly a website. This may be especially appealing to people who
have participated in the past in the summer flex leagues sponsored by
Rec & Ed, as these leagues are no longer offered. The Tennis Ladder web
site is www.aaactaladder.pbwiki.com

If you are interested in participating, contact Ron Schwartz at
SchwartzR348@aol.com . He will send you the rules and the list of others
that are playing. Ron is also looking for someone to help with
managing the ladder (recording and organizing the scores on a
spreadsheet, etc.), so if that's your type of thing, please let him
know.

The warm weather has arrived and it's time to play!
