Dana M. Walker
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Michigan's School of Information and a pre-doctoral research fellow at the Charles F. Kettering Foundation.

My research is focused on the connection between information and political practices. The title of my dissertation is Networked Public Talk: Extending the Analysis of Political Discussion in Online Urban Forums. In the project I forward a concept which I call "networked public talk." In my conceptualization, networked public talk is the everyday, informal political conversation that emerges organically through internet-enabled discussion spaces, as participants reflect on experiences and share their observations. Multi-vocal by nature, networked public talk is loosely-structured conversation conducted in full view of forum participants, through short posts that accumulate into a discussion thread.
