Methane/Air flame in a Counterflow Burner

Investigations aim at a better understanding of chemical kinetic pathways that lead to the formation and destruction of nitric oxide.

Laminar counterflow diffusion flames are well suited for spatially resolved measurements at atmospheric pressure conditions to obtain quantitative data on temperature and important species. Experimental data are compared to simulations that use detailed chemical kinetic mechanisms.
