This is a 55 second movie that displays the components of a chiral
12-MC-4 layered complex that was reported in Bodwin, J.J.; Pecoraro, V.L.
"Preparation of a Chiral, 2-Dimensional Porous Network Using
Metallacrown and Copper Benzoate Building Blocks" Inorg. Chem.,
2000,39, 3434-5.
The movie begins with a space filling view of the solid viewed
perpendicularly to the metallacrown, nitrate, paddlewheel dimer layer.
The metallacrown is then illustrated solely in bronze, followed by the
paddlewheel dimer in blue and the nitrate in green.
Subsequently, this solid is rotated to show the approximately 9 Angstrom
pores that are generated by interaction of the two layers.
In the next segment, the phenyl groups that are appended to the chiral
b-amine carbon are colored green to emphasize how these functional groups
line the channel.
Finally, a stick diagram is presented that illustrates how waters,
methanol and a benzoic acid molecule act as guests inside the hosts
channels.
