I am looking for graduate students with good academic standing, who are interested in pursuing their doctoral studies in the broad area of materials physics. My work is interdisciplinary and draws ideas from materials physics and applied mathematics. Its mostly computational but also involves fair bit of rigorous mathematics for people who have a theoretical bent of mind. Students who have a keen interest towards physics, mathematics and issues related to materials science at small scales will be a very good match. Since the work is computationally intensive, having very strong computational skills will be extremely helpful. Please contact me (email: vikramg(at)umich(dot)edu) if you are interested.
