Graduate Student Research Assistant (RA)
Students with strong academic background and interest in computational mechanics are encouraged to apply for a graduate research position  in the group.

Prospective students can apply for MS/PhD program in the aerospace engineering department either in the winter term (deadline: November 1) or the fall term (deadline: January 15). Once you send your application, email me at veeras@umich.edu so that I can go through your application package and give you consideration. Details for the application are in these links:

For pursuing research in my lab, basic requirements include working knowledge of finite element analysis, programming (C++) skills and a good mechanics background. You may need to learn parallel computing and take graduate level courses in advanced structural mechanics and atomistic modelling (molecular dynamics, statistical mechanics, ab-initio (DFT) calculations) once you join the group.
