Research Activities:

Topic Area:
Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (MION) as a Drug Carrier

The research aims at advances in preparation and characterization of Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (MION)particles in order to simultaneously serve as a ''Magnetic targeting'' drug carrier and an MRI contrast agent. Some key scientific issues are still existed and need to make clear for successful application, e.g. molecular assembly and packing in nanoparticles, interrelationship between particle size or shape and superparamagnetic character; screening of biocompatible macromolecules coating MION, etc..
