WORKSHOPS

  • Attended a workshop on “Embedded Systems” conducted by Mr. D.V. Gadre.  The workshop included an introduction to the AT-Mega 8 micro-controller and an exercise to develop a Digital Clock.
  • Attended a workshop on image-processing in MATLAB by Mr. V.B. Vats

Projects Undertaken

  • Currently involved with the development of an LED based touch panel as a B Tech final year project, under the guidance of Mr. D.V. Gadre, Electronics and Communication Department, N.S.I.T and Prof. Anshul Kumar, Department of Computer Engineering and Science, I.I.T Delhi.

  • Designed and developed several projects based on the concept of using “LEDs as photo-diodes”, such as opto-electronic RPM meter, LED based “Presence Detector”, LEDComm etc

  • Designed and developed a Door Messaging System under the guidance of Prof. Anshul Kumar, Department of Computer Engineering and Science, I.I.T, Delhi. This project was implemented on the AVR AT-mega 8 micro-controller interfaced with peripherals such as LCD displays, non-volatile memories and keypad inputs.

  • Developed a Talking Thermometer under the guidance of Mr. D.V. Gadre, Electronics and Communications Department, N.S.I.T. This project was implemented on the AVR Butterfly kit, using the AVR AT-Mega 169 micro-controller. Speech sampling and reproduction was achieved through delta modulation.

  • Designed and developed a GUI in JAVA under the guidance of Prof. V.K. Bansal, Instrumentation and Control Department, N.S.I.T. The GUI was developed for analog circuit analysis in PSPICE using graphical circuit diagrams instead of the conventional method of textual inputs.

  • Developed a two-player word game in JAVA involving TCP socket programming, file handling and multi-threaded programming.

  • Designed control systems for the ball and beam problem and the cart-pole problem in MATLAB as part of winter training 2005 under Mr. Rajnish Sharma, Instrumentation and Control Department, N.S.I.T.

  • Developed a verification suite in Verilog for the SPI-4 network protocol as part of summer training in nSys Inc.

  • Developed a resistance recognition algorithm using MATLAB under the guidance of Mr. V.B. Vats, Electronics and Communication Department., N.S.I.T. This Project involved determination of the resistance value of a resistor from its digital image using the image processing toolbox of MATLAB.

Achievements

  • Awarded a Gold Medal in Class XII for excellence in academics
  • Awarded a scholarship by C.B.S.E for being in the top 0.1% in physics in the Class XII board examination.
  • Awarded tuition fee waiver by N.S.I.T, Delhi for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.
  • Won a Certificate for Distinctive Excellence and $100 in the AVR Design Contest 2006 for Talk Zombie.
  • Won 1st prize in Sculpture making competition during the annual cultural festival of N.S.I.T- MOKSHA ’05.

Interests and activities

  • Organized several fine-arts events during the annual cultural festival MOKSHA, such as face and arm painting competition, salad-dressing competition etc.
