Solely responsible for all functions of the library. Provide reference, research, and document delivery services to all Fisheries Division staff.  Develop and enforce all library policies; review, acquire, catalog, and preserve and maintain all library materials; act as liaison with other librarians; and responsible for the content of Fisheries Division Library website.

Library of Michigan, Lansing

Provided reference and specialized research services to the members of the Executive Branch of the State of the Michigan and to the public.  Instructed patrons in the effective use of bibliographic and subject databases, including the NOTIS-based on-line catalog and various commercial products.  Developed bibliographic instruction materials to promote the successful use of library resources.  Coordinated the 1870 Census Index project.  Responsible for collection development activities in four subject areas. Conducted tours and demonstrations for visitors and researchers.

 

Student Intern – February 1991 - September1992

Provided reference, research, and document delivery services to all Fisheries Division staff.  Designed and implemented the automation and physical restructuring of the library’s holdings.  Created a thesaurus of index terms.  Implemented a self-designed preservation program.  Created and administered bibliographic instruction programs.  Developed and supervised an international reprint exchange.

Learned and practiced the principles and techniques used in conserving books, manuscripts, maps and prints.
