Granpa Works in the Fields - Mi agüelo trabaja en el campo

Tatiana Calixto

2011

Zarwatun and his grandpa, Luis Villafañe, communicate in the Arhuaco language, Ikan.

But then, there was something I was fully able to understand.

One afternoon, after returning from school, I was flipping through Zarwa’s notebook and saw a drawing of a man working in his orchard. The image read “Mi agüelo trabaja en el campo.”

I never corrected his spelling.

The image was flawless.
