Pedro prepares the offerings for our ceremony to Mother Earth.
For us, visitors learning the ancestral art of weaving, our petition is for permission to be in Chinchero, in the land that hosts us––in a land where people hold a ceremony when they start a new enterprise or a new year.
We want to be respectful. It is respectful to do as our hosts do.
And so we greet the land offering her some of the sustenance that she gives us.
