Drew Henson, QB, Brighton, MI. 6'4", 210 lbs, 4.7. Henson is considered by many to be the best athlete to come out of the state of Michigan in years. He is the top overall player in the state and is generally thought to be one of the top 2-3 QB's in the nation in early rankings. In addition to being a standout football player, he is an All-American caliber baseball player who is an excellent pro prospect (though he says he will be primarily a football player and will not sign a baseball contract), and averaged over 20 points a game in hoops as a sophomore. Henson is an oustanding student with a 4.0 GPA. He chose Michigan over Florida State, Stanford, and Michigan State.
Dave Petruziello, TE/DL, Mentor Lake, OH. 6'5", 270 lbs, 4.8 40. Petruziello is a huge tight end who is generally considered to be the top prospect in a strong junior class in Ohio. As a junior, he made 23 catches for 285 yards and 3 TD's. He could play on either side of the ball, but is expected to get his first look as a tight end. Petruziello's top other choices were Notre Dame and Penn State, but he felt at home in Ann Arbor and made an early decision to become a Wolverine.
Joe Denay, OT, Bay City, MI. 6'8", 305 lbs. Denay is a huge offensive and defensive tackle who will probably play offense in college. He was a participant at the Michigan football camp last summer, where he impressed the coaches (and vice versa); he received a scholarship offer on February 21st, his 17th birthday. Denay squats 600 pounds and bench presses 270; he is one of the state's top shot-putters and is expected to participate in spring track at Michigan.
