| PROJECTS & PRACTICUMS:
Institutional Repository "Deep Blue" - Practical Engagement Internship. Conducted research for the preservation and formats working group. Assisted with the creation of a preservation policy, assessment of digital file formats for preservation and development of a service plan for digital formats. Contributed to set of "best practice" guidelines for the creation and conversion of digital audio, video, image, and text formats.
AAE Library Website - Participated in committee to design and implement the AAE Library's database driven website. Assisted with planning, information architecture, and user testing. Currently participating in follow-up committee for redesign and user testing. Tasks include log analysis, creating new interface mockups, and simulation testing of mockups.
Published article with committee members.
Image Database Management System - Designed and built a relational database for UM's Visual Resource Collection to improve cataloging, data processing, and online retrieval of information about the image collection.
Usability Analysis & Interface Design
– Semester group project for SI 629 "Access Systems for Archival Materials." Analyzed the usability of an existing collection's online public access catalog & website, created user personas, designed interface prototypes (for four different functionalities) and diagramed information architecture of current site and proposed redesigned.
Usability Evaluation - SI 622: Evaluation of Systems and Services. Created user personas and scenarios, conducted a comparative evaluation, user survey, heuristic evaluation, vocabulary analysis, and usability testing for the the non-profit website www.breastcancer.org.
Grant Writing - SI 581: Preservation of Information. Group project. Collaborated in authorship of a grant requesting funding for the digitization of a collection located at the UM Special Collections Library. Virtual Reference Assessment - SI 501: Use of Information. Group project. Benson Ford Research Center. Semester group project. Assessed Center's virtual reference services. Researched industry norms, conducted interviews and collected qualitative and quantative data. Reported findings with suggestions for improved information flows and communication to make these processes more efficient.
