  Would you like to grow superior roses in your garden? If you are one of those gardeners that say, "I can't grow good roses," or you don't know where to begin, we at the Detroit Rose Society, want to show you how we have helped thousands of rose lovers for over 65 years to achieve the rose garden they have yearned for. You too can fulfill your dreams of a beautiful rose garden with the assistance of fellow rosarians throughout Southern Michigan.

  We look forward to serving you and promoting our National Floral Emblem - the "Rose".
  The Detroit Rose Society is incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization under the laws of the State of Michigan. It is a fully affiliated member chapter of the American Rose Society. The Society has been active in the Greater Detroit area for over 65 years. The purpose of the Detroit Rose Society is to foster the growth of roses in the home garden. The dissemination of knowledge, beauty, grandeur and the loveliness of the rose. As members, we promote, nurture, scrutinize and improve rose culture. The Detroit Rose Society holds monthly meetings in which rose culture is the foremost subject of interest. Members receive many benefits among which are the following:
  Rio Samba "Rose Lore" - the official publication of the Society is full of valuable information about rose growing in this area and the State of Michigan. Application for Membership
  Rose Display at the Show Rose Shows - held annually in June and September. Dates for 2001, June 16 and 17, Universal Mall...Dequindre and 12 Mile Road in Warren, Michigan and September 15 and 16, Laurel Park Place....1700 Laurel Park Drive 6 Mile Rd. East of I-275 Livonia, Michigan.
  Rose Arch at Bill & Sue's Garden Regular Detroit Rose Society Meetings are held monthly at the Pleasant Ridge Community Center,4 Ridge Road in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan. Located next to I-696 and Woodward Avenue. Metings are usually held on the last Friday of each month. Rose clinics and garden tours featuring practical rose growing information on planting, pruning, spraying and fertilizing are also held regularly and information about these events is available in the monthly newsletter, the Rose Lore.
  A few consulting rosarians Consulting Rosarians members specially designated by the American Rose Society, are pledged to help everyone grow better roses.
  Holiday Quartet Social events include an annual gala Christmas party, and a summer pot luck awards dinner.
  Year of the Rose Logo 2002 is the YEAR OF THE ROSE! The American Rose Society is leading an effort to celebrate the ROSE in 2002. The year long, world-wide, grassroots event has been made official by a resolution of the US Congress. You are invited to join the celebration - visit our website at http://www.rose-2002.org It's our National Flower! Let's celebrate it!
