Focus of My Work My research involves the investigation of design approaches and ideation, innovation practices, and creative processes. I am specifically interested in studies involving multiple disciplinary professional and educational contexts and I often collaborative across disciplines, working with scholars in engineering, education, industrial design, and psychology. I emphasize the translation of research to practice in my work, modeling in my own work the implementation of best pedagogical practices and the development of quality curriculum aligned with clear learning goals and assessments, and supporting others in doing the same through faculty consultations and development programs. I also bring a research lens to understanding how to support successful translation of research to practice. My teaching interests align with my research interests, focusing on supporting students in developing skills and learning tools to increase their success in design and innovation. |
