for such a recent group. Participants relate experiences, share

place of humor in dealing with bereavement.

- Description:
- A list of bereavement groups in and around Champaign County, Illinois,
prepared by the staff of the Self-Help Center at Family Services.
- Over 20 groups are listed by county and include resources for general
bereavement, death of a child or miscarriage, suicide, and widows and
widowers. The purposes of the groups, names, addresses, and phone numbers
are provided.

- Description:
- For anyone feeling despairing or suicidal.
- The Samaritans, a 40-year-old counseling group based in the United Kingdom,
provide their service via e-mail. Completely confidential, all trained
volunteers answer requests for information using the name "Jo." Those
requesting information will receive the FAQ file, which contains
directions for anonymously e-mailing the Samaritans, as well as a history of
the group and the services they provide.
