Reader comments:
Chadwick tells a great story. I love the action, history, and romance that are incorporated into each of the novels that I have read so far. I can't wait to read another one. (T.V., 5-24-98) Wonderful book, with excellent research and writing. I also enjoyed her next 2 books. But her most recent works seem to be drifting into the realm of fantasy or mysticism, which doesn't appeal to me. (S.C.L., 8-4-96) I thought this was a very good novel; well written, with good historical detail and delightful characters. Both Guyon and Judith are believable people, and Guyon is sweetly patient with his naive, fearful bride. It's no wonder Chadwick won a 'best first novel' award for this story! The sequels are, I think, even better, because she improves as a writer. (E.K., 7-26-96) The American Elizabeth Chadwick has one of the best senses of humor that I've encountered in recent romances. This British Elizabeth Chadwick is a more serious writer, and THE WILD HUNT is well written and well researched; I was especially interested in the details about medieval herbal medicines (even though these appear in lots of romances, of course). However, the heroine was too young and inexperienced for my tastes; in fact, I found the husband's Welsh mistress more interesting. (E.P., 7-19-96) I have read four of her books, and I love them. I love the story, characters, and the fact that the research she does really shows through in her work. I would recomend all of her books to anyone interested in history as well as romance (C.B., 4-23-96) Elizabeth Chadwick is one of the few romance writers, who like Laura Kinsale, is a great writer, not only a romance writer. Her work can stand with any fiction. The craft in this novel is impeccable. (M.M., 12-11-95) Really enjoyed the book - great medieval romance (E.W., 11-12-95) This was a great story. The historical research was excellent and I found the main characters to be really endearing. (R.R., 7-24-95)
