This is one of my favorite JAK books. I love the beginning with the AJpoor guy being left at the altar contemplating a night with an inflatable doll and the secondary characters--her family are really well done, one can just see them acting out their emotions. Sam was a great hero and Desdemona was typically gutsy and classy. I love JAK no matter what name she writes under. (L.H., 3-15-98) This is one of my favorite JAK books. All hers are fun!! (D.B.B., 2-21-98) This book was my first and favorite of Jayne Ann Krentz. I love her work, her style and her characters. Although I do have to admit her characters are slowly becoming the same over again, but a bad book by Jayne Ann is still a great read!!! (L.A., 5-27-97) I wait for her annual book avidly and read the Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle too (J.H., 5-9-97) She is my favorite author I have two favorite autors before, one Amanda Quick for historical mystery and romance. The other was Jayne ann Krentz for mystery and romance I thought they were two different people until I looked in the back of the book I was reading and realized they were the same person. (L.S., 4-25-97) I love all of Ms Krantz' novels. I try to read all of her Amanda Quick novels too. Keep up the good work. (C.H., 3-12-97) Relatively new to Krentz, but think she's one of the best in the genre and am moving through her stuff rapidly. This one, like others I've read, really catches you with the snap-crackle-pop dialogue and loads of sexual tension without having hero and heroine at eachothers throats. Secondary characters are cool, quirky, add a nice, very Pacific NW touch to the books. Suspense is predictable--as in other books by her, it's easy to pick out the villain from the get-go, but sure makes an entertaining vehicle for what is, ultimately, a love story. So far, my fave book by Krentz is Midnight Jewels--though what's with the corny title! (K.K., 2-13-97) Subtle, quiet, and deep men are a Krentz specialty. Strong, heartful, crazy women are her hallmark. I can never get enough. 2nd and 3rd reads are not uncommon! What is it about her books that keep all coming back for more? For me it is her character develometand her dialong. Not many can write dialog like Krentz. Her characters are witty, realistict, (for the most parts) and deep. You don't catch all of the complexities during a quick, race to the finish 1st read. Come back and a Krentz book again. And see all that you have missed. Key word is subtle. Don't miss Deep Waters. And the futristic Amerilys. Great stuff! Happy reading. (B.B., 2-12-97) Okay but I have read better books from Jayne. (S.J., 2-6-97) I thought this was one of her weaker efforts. It may be me but I am beginning to think all her heroines are air heads, even when she writes as Quick, so I will not be reading her for a while except for her new futuristic because I used to love her but now all the books feel like I've been there, done that. Need a break. (G.A., 12-28-96) My sister and I loved this book. Never forget your British readers who all adore you as well. Sometimes it can be very difficult to get hold of your books here and we take it in turns to visit the States to buy them. Many thanks for all the pleasure you have given us. (J.H., 12-26-96) I love Krentz! But I did not think this was one of her better novels.I think Grand Passion is her best to date. I also love her as Amanda Quick! (J.H., 11-16-96) My first JAK book. Got me hooked. Loved that opening scene desdemona trying to be sympathetic but needing very much to get the bill, Sam ran up for the wedding that never happened, paid. Nice development of their romance after that. (Y.P., 11-15-96) One of my favorite authors, Jayne Ann Krentz. The characters in this story are great. Such humor! (D.L.D., 11-12-96) If this hadn't been a JAK book, I'd have given up half way through. The main characters were unsympathetic and less interesting than the secondary ones. Krentz has written some wonderful novels, but I didn't feel this was one of them. (G.S., 11-10-96) Another night with out sleep because of "krentz", great book. Humorous, full of suspense and very romatic. I only wish she'd write more books per year! (D.N., 10-27-96) Loved it - thought Sam and D were stupendous, and she really takes you along for the whole ride!! One of those books I have read over and over again. I LOVE Jayne Krentz!! (S.C., 10-22-96) I LOVE her work!!! I've become obsessed with reading everything she's done!! Give me MORE,MORE,MORE!!! (T.M., 10-17-96) Jayne Ann Krentz is my favorite author of all times. I buy and read everything by her that I can get my hands on. I like the way the hero and heroine work together and none of that turmoil like other books. (S.L.P., 10-5-96) My first Krentz and I adored it from the first scene. Sam and D are great and the counter plots fun. (Y.P., 10-1-96) This book is reaaly great, mind gripping story. Krentz is the best! (F.S.H., 9-17-96) As always, Ms. Krentz adds the right amount of humor that keeps you turning the pages jsut to see what will happen next. The ice sculptures were a nice touch! (J.B., 9-7-96) Although this is a predictable novel, I love mysteries. This was the first contemporary romance novel I read so it was nice to see the hero wasn't as sexist and chauvanistic as usual. (G.K., 7-25-96) Gripping story from start to finish. Only disappointment was the villian, too predictable. (C.Y., 7-25-96) Great book!!! I read it to fast. (D.H., 6-20-96) Classic Krentz-and that's pretty good! (L.K., 6-20-96) Jayne's the best! (N.R., 6-9-96) Very enjoyable, fast moving, funny and sexy. Like all Krentz, a mystery wrapped up in a romance. Wonderful secondary characters. My only complaint is that I finished it too quickly! (B.A., 6-5-96) I loved this book and the quirky, sensitive characters! (J.W., 5-14-96) My first Krentz, and a keeper. Really enjoyed the love story and the eccentric secondary characters. (D.N., 5-12-96)
