Reader comments:
I thought this book was AWESOME!!!! It was the only romance novel that I enjoyed reading from beginning to end! J.M. has a way with words!!! (B.L., 5-22-98) I never cried so much! My heart raced. My chest tightened. I knew he wasn't dead, but SHE didn't and that just made the tears pour down my face! I LOVED THIS BOOK! Two thumbs up to infinity power! (L.W., 5-19-98) I cried at teh last scene but I just love JM when she writes the epilogue It is always so sweet. In Something Wonderful,I was glad that Alex did'nt wear the tin neckless her father gave her. (A.A.A., 5-15-98) Alex was a stupid bitch who didn't deserve Jordan. She's so dumb, she should've died. (Q.L., 3-28-98) It is one of my favorite by Judith. I have read all of her books. I thought it was much better than Remember When. That one bombed big time. (J.H., 3-18-98) It is one of my favorite by Judith. I have read all of her books. I thought it was much better than Remember When. That one bombed big time. (J.H., 3-18-98) If my husband grabbed me by the hair and called me a "murderous bitch" and then got me shot, I wouldn't be so quick to forgive, but Jordan was suitably contrite. I loved Alex! And as much as I loved Jordan, he's no Ian Thorton (K.S., 2-1-98) MY FAVORITE BY J.M. I REALLY LIKE ALEX, AND JORDAN WAS INDESCRIBABLY GREAT. ONLY I THINK TONY DESERVED A BETTER GIRL THAN THAT SALLY WHATS-HER-FACE. I LOVED THE BLIND FOOTMAN AND DEAF BUTLER, THEY WERE SO SWEET AND LOYAL TO ALEX. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THE PLOT OF THE VILLAINS DIDN'T FIT AND WAS HAPHAZARDLY PUT TOGETHER. ALSO J.M. GETS CONFUSED ABOUT THE COLOR OF THE DOWAGER'S EYES. (S.S., 1-26-98) I loved this one, along with all the others which I've read. J.M. creates the best heroines, and the most enchanting heroes. I can't wait to read more! (S.H., 1-21-98) This is the book that started it all for me! Even though Alex seemed too young in the beginning of the novel, she redeemed herself by the time Jordan came back from the dead. If only her new novels could live up to her classics. (A.L., 5-31-97) This is my all time favourite. J.M's best. I cried when Jordan thought she died at the end. Her heroes are so magnificently irresistible. (S.L., 5-5-97) I really liked this one. Made me cry. (P.D., 4-28-97) A truly magnificent book. It brought laughter and tears to me. Thank you for writing. (X.H., 4-16-97) This was one of the best books that I have ever read in my life. I cried the whole time especially when Alex thought that Jordan had been killed and vice versa. At the ending I was yearning for my own Jordan Townsende. (A.S., 4-14-97) I loved this book! J.M. is a great author. It is a definate keeper. The characters are developed very well, the emotions are strong and I laughed & cried along with the characters. I'll make it a point to look for more of her books. (B.B., 4-11-97) One of the Best (V.Y., 3-31-97) this is one of my favorite Judith McNaught books. It was the first one I read and it still stands out in my mind. It has one of the best endings of any of the books i have read. (K.C., 3-17-97) I love to reread this book. The scene in the beginning of the book, of Alex riding to Jordan's rescue in a suit of armor is the most hysterical scene I have read. Although I have not loved all of her books, I have to say I really liked them. (N.T., 3-10-97) I love all of Judith McNaught's historical romances. The Nick Duville book is either in "A Gift of Love" or "A Holiday of Love" (K.B., 2-23-97) I really enjoyed this book, even though I had to stretch a bit to believe Jason's disapearance. I like McNaught's books because her heroines are original, independent and intelligent. This book was a great afternoon read -- not as good as some of her others (like "Until You" and "Whitney, My Love") but very satisfying nonetheless. (J.S., 2-19-97) This is my favorite book ever! Reading this always made me cry. It never fails to touch my emotions. (D.S., 2-15-97) This is one of McNaught's best. I was touched right from the start. This book made me laugh, cry, sigh, and long for my own Jordan Townsende. Alex and Jordan have to be one of the most entertaining couples in all romance novels. They are endearing to read about, with their antics, and flaws you can't help adoring, and deciding that such flaws make their characters even more entertaining. The best part was the end, where Alex was in some sort of a coma and Jordan (once a cold, masculine man) all torn up with misery that I couldn't help wishing I was no one else but Alexandra Clairborne. (A.A., 2-6-97) Excellent, says it all. (C.L., 2-5-97) I'd just like to comment on this book. I think it was fabulous. I'm just 13 and became attached to McNaught's novels when I accidentally picked it out of the library. This book was so incredibly touching I cried near the end when she got shot. I cried even harder at Jordan's reaction to it. I felt as if I was there, just looking on. I was hooked on it. (J.M., 1-28-97) This is a good to great book. Once again, McNaught uses the separation theme (similar to Almost Heaven, Remember When), but when the lovers get together it makes for a great read! (M.Y., 1-7-97) I enjoyed the book a great deal but I would love to read more of the Westmorelands!! Are you planning on doing any sequels? (D.G., 12-31-96) I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS A FANTASTIC BOOK,BUT "REMEMBER WHEN" IS BETTER DUE TO THE MORE SUBTLE PLOT AND THE NOT-SO-NEEDING-TO-BE-REFORMED HERO. THIS IS A MUCH BETTER DIRECTION IN HER NOVELS. A MUST READ FOR WOMEN WHO APPRECIATE A GOOD MAN WHO DOESN'T NEED A SHRINK! (R.G., 12-27-96) I loved Something Wonderful!! Every Judith McNaught book I have read was wonderful! I am looking desperately for the Nick Duvallebook!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not find it anywhere!!! (J.G., 12-16-96) Every book McNaught has ever written has made me cry. Something Wonderful was the first romance I ever read, and I hope she writes many more. (A.S., 12-13-96) Another decent read from McNaught. In fact, until her latest, REMEMBER WHEN (a bomb, IMO), she's been consistently decent. (E.P., 12-11-96)
