Reader comments:
This was not as good as Dier's first two books (Surrender the Dream), but still an enjoyable, albeit predictable, read. Just picked up Lord Savage so the jury is out as to how it compares. (M.Y., 1-29-97) Two romantic plot situations--a Remington Steele-type impersonation and a feigned amnesia leading to marital relations--not to mention a surprise villain (so rare in romances!) should have made for a better book. Unfortunately, SCOUNDREL is marred by uneven writing, annoying lust-at-first-sight thought interruptions a la Catherine Coulter, silly medieval playacting and sword-sheathe double entendres in the love scenes, and a heroine whose mercurial view of the hero really pushes the reader's patience. (E.P., 1-29-97)
