- JAK and her names!! Little Dippington!! I still laugh when I think about it. Imagine saying your from Little Dippington!! I also loved the allusions to elfs and dragons and Emily dressing in the "Dragong Colors". Of all the heroes, I think that Simone was one of the most loving towards his heroine. He ended up saving her family, the same one he was trying to destroy, because of her. This was also one of her funnier novels. Emily was so happy and sweet, especially when she was messing up Simone's plans!! This is definately a keeper!! (S.B., 5-26-98)
Hit me again AQ. As usual I loved your book. They get better everytime I read them. (L.R.W., 5-19-98)
A laugh-out-loud blusher! She did it again, and I'm in the mood for more. Quick, in all of her styles, is a great gift of comic releif. Bless her! (S.J., 3-14-98)
This book was excellent. I cannot believe that it, along with other AQ books, were not in the five heart catagory. These books are the best buys if you enjoy reading about spunky, strong women who support their mates but will tell them if they are wrong. These women command respect. Also, the heroes are exactly as one writer put "everything a man should be". If you are going to spend money on a book, you probably won't feel cheated if you get an AQ. I just wish she would write them faster. The ones to get are "Scandal", "Seduction", "Deception", "Rendevous", "Reckless", and "Ravished". Get the others when desperate. (M.T., 5-16-97)
After reading this book, I can't hear the word "cravat" without grinning ear to ear. (K.S., 1-23-97)
I have kept all of Amanda Quick's adorable books. Scandal is my favorite, although all of them have a feisty heroine and a sexy dark hero. Amanda, keep turning them out. (V.W., 12-22-96)
Scandal is my favorite Amanda Quick book. It's full of humor, sex, and a wonderful story. Love Amanda Quick. (D.L.D., 11-12-96)
One of the best Amanda Quicks. She's gotten formulaic (both as Amanda Quick and as Jane Krentz)
but when she's hot, she's hot. This one is very funny but with some depth. Emily isn't the fool
that everyone thinks she is (including Blade) as she very gently shows him. (E.C., 9-6-96)
this was the 1st book i read of Amanda Quick.. n it was enuff for me
to keep getting her books!!
I have read more of her books i got to say dat i really love the heroine
coz they can stand up against the hero... they are not the timid type.
It is a typical character of most/all Quick's heroine to be like dat
n i like it!!.. dats why i read them :) (J.O., 7-22-96)
Brilliant. My favourite of all her novels. I love the hero! I also like the fact that there is more to the plot than just Emily and Simon getting together! (A.K., 7-3-96)
Funny, very well-written (A.R., 6-17-96)
A very typical Quick book, from the beginning to the end; although i adored Emily, a delight heroine. (C.N.C., 6-4-96)
Best book by Quick that I've read. Though typically frothy, and with the same heroine as in all her books, this one does have several funny moments. (E.P., 5-28-96)
One of the few Quicks I couldn't finish. Thought the heroine too much a dingbat, and the hero was too arrogant for words. Though all Quicks heroes tend to be arrogant, I just couldn't stomach this one. (D.N., 5-12-96)
I love to read Amanda Quick books, when I first read her books I just had to buy them all. Her story are funny and a get pick up if you are feeling down. (P.M., 3-20-96)
My First book by Amanda Quick, even before I knew Quick was a pseudonym for Jane Ann Krentz, I loved her books. I would read Stereo instructions if she wrote them. her novels are witty, sweet and sexy. (S.D.B., 3-10-96)
Amanda Quick is such a great author that she could write computer manuals and i would read them! (K.T., 3-4-96)
One of Quick's all time greats. A must read. (A.F., 2-22-96)
I always enjoy a "Quick" look at life. Never has she bedazzeled us
with a herione so beautiful she is untouchable or a life so far from
reality it is dream-like. Instead "Quick" gives us people who we are
able to believe in and see deep in ourselves. (A.P., 2-20-96)
The heroine who changes her brothers and husband by love for the better, teaching them to be the best they can be. Fairly kinky sex too. (C.D., 2-19-96)
Love all of Amanda Quick's books, have read every one. I think it is great that the heroines have backbones and aren't easily intimidated by the dark heroes. When do we get to expect another? (S.C., 2-19-96)
Amanda Quick's novels fill a void in reality with love and humor. This is another keeper!!!! (T.H., 2-10-96)
One of the few Amanda Quicks I didn't finish. Hated the hero and thought the heroine was a complete airhead. Also thought the hero was more arrogant and condescending than her usual heroes, and I couldn't find enough redeeming about him by midway through the book to keep reading. (D.N., 2-2-96)
This was my first Amanda Quick and I made sure to read the others in short order! Love the humor. (S.B., 1-23-96)
The characters seem to be the same from book to book, sometimes it feels as though I should have just picked up one of her other ones because they are all the same. Good, but still the same. (M.A., 1-10-96)
Loved this Amanda Quick book the most, but I find that as you read
her other books, they all start to seem the same and there are (very)
similiar passages amoung them. (C.C., 1-1-96)
I read and reread this book often. Everytime I read it I discover something I missed before. (K.K., 12-22-95)
A complaint I have in most of her books is the female character. Yes, they are all smart and spunky but do they ALWAYS have to be so naive and innocent? It always seems like they are too in love with the male character early on in the book. There isn't enough tension or an equal footing between the characters. I feel oftentimes the female lead character is at a disadvantage. (J.L., 11-18-95)
I love Amanda Quick's novels. They are entertaining and give an interesting glimpse of life in Regency England. I love the mystery as well as the romance in her novels. I have read all of her novels and cannot wait for the next one to be published. (L.N., 11-9-95)
Amanda Quick has a way of making her chracters endearing to her readers. Emily certainly knew how to handle Simon. Poor thing, he never knew what hit him! I also like her humorous sex scenes. Good reading. (A.K., 10-29-95) I have read most of Mrs. Quicks' books and I have found "Scandal" to be as entertaining as the others. The heroine was funny and intelligent. I like the chemistry between the main characters. A
wonderful book that I recommend for every romance reader. (K.B., 10-29-95) One of my favorite books of all time. I have re-read this one at least 15-20 times. She has not written a bad one yet! (M.B., 10-28-95) This is my favorite Amanda Quick. I was charmed by the bespectacled Emily and her transcendental love for whathisname. (A.D., 9-18-95)
I loved this book and I wish her newer ones had the same entertaining relationship aspect instead of focusing so much more on the action. (S.G., 9-12-95)
I enjoy all the Quick books, but Scandal is perhaps her best! (S.C., 9-7-95) I enjoy all of Amanda Quicks books, if not always for their plot but
simply because they spotlight strong women in historical times who believe in
independence and a will of their own. (A.S., 8-22-95)
Scandal was my introduction to Amanda Quick. The entertaining but predictable story was smothered in ridiculous language. After all the hype I had heard about Ms. Quick, this book was a letdown. (K.P. -- obviously a different one -- 8-18-95)
I thoroughly enjoyed it! My first Amanda Quick book, with more to come! The characters were interesting and I couldn't wait to find out what happened to everyone! (K.P., 8-17-95)
Humorous, engaging. (J.P., 8-13-95)
Love all Amanda Quick books and recommend them to lots of library patrons. (D.L., 8-5-95)
Funny, witty, very enjoyable!!! (L.C., 7-19-95)
I LOVE AMANDA QUICK!!! (S.S., 6-29-95)
I love reading the great love stories written by Amanda Quick! (J.W., 6-26-95)
A wonderful love story -- I cared about and identified with the
characters. Quick's style and wit -- and ability to create intelligent
and vulnerable characters, made me want to go out and buy all of
her other titles. So I did! (K.K. [yes, a different one!], 6-24-95)
Another great "Quick" book with a feisty heroine and dark, troubled hero. (T.B., 6-24-95)
I read this years ago and have reread it many times. Characters are
charming, conflict is perfect, love scenes are deliciously kinky - the best of
Quick/Krentz/Glass/James/etc. This is one intelligent author who writes about
savvy heroines! (K.K., 6-22-95)
