Reader comments:
I read her other books before I actually even got this one. It was great, just like I expected it to be! (L.W., 5-19-98) I LOVE THIS BOOK!! IT is as good as SOMETHING WONDERFUL!! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! AND IF I DID, I WOULD BE THINKING ABOUT IT CONSTANTLY!! (M.N., 4-19-98) IT'S ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME. THE FINAL PART WAS SO TOUCHING THAT TEARS FALL OFF MY FACE EVERY TIME I READ THIS BOOK. BUT I'M QUITE SURPRISE THAT 'WHITNEY, MY LOVE' IS NOT UP FOR COMMENTS. IN FACT THAT WAS MY FIRST BOOK, AND IT WAS THAT BOOK THAT INTRODUCE ME TO MS MCNAUGHT'S BOOKS. I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT SHE IS MY FAV. AUTHORESS! (S.N., 4-8-98) I'm only 14, but Judith McNaught is my favorite author, (and I've read alot of romance books) I have read almost all of her books and right now I hope they make any of her books into a movie. My friends and i lov her and we would like her to write more breath taking books, because i cried in most of her books. She is wonderful!! (P.T., 4-7-98) The best I've read. Royce is the most capable everything there is in a hero. Jennifer is perfect for him. Their's is truly a story worth cherishing. (Q.L., 3-28-98) Great book! I couldn't put it down! (S.R., 3-27-98) A Kingdom of Dreams was the first and the best "Romance" novel I have ever read. I simply love the plot, the characters (especially Royce;-)), the setting and the heart-achinglingly beautiful ending. Contemporary settings really don't appeal to me very much, and although Regencies are okay, nothing matches the pomp, glory, and raw beauty of the Medieval era. Pleeeease, Judith, write another one set in this time period!!! I simply couldn't put this book down. And every other book pales in comparison to kingdom, from whichever angle you gauge it at. All of my friends agree. The quirky humor and the romance that Kingdom shimmers with is unparalleled. GOOD JOB and again, please write another one set in the 1400's! (Y.W., 3-21-98) not anywhere near as good as I expected. What a waist of stephen westmoreland's wonderful character (C.C., 3-19-98) A Kingdom of Dreams was the first and the best "Romance" novel I have ever read. What a waist of stephen westmoreland's wonderful character (C.C., 3-19-98) This is one of the first McNaught novels I ever read and it is one of my all time favorite by her. Every time I read it, I get teary-eyed. (D.T., 3-14-98) I thoroughly enjoy Judith McNaught books, I love the way she refers to the characters in other books. I have reread the Kingdom of Dreams several times. (B.J., 3-6-98) really the best book i've ever read in my life.....great story line....great plot....very romantic..... (T.T., 2-7-98) I loved this book. One of the best comments an author can recieve it to TAke the reader there and make them the character. In this book, Judith McNaught does that. As for telling it to my friends...they too have become life-long fans. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. It is a book that is treasured and re-read through the years. Thank you Ms. McNaught for sharing your stories with us. (S.S., 1-31-98) I loved this book. One of the best comments an author can recieve it to TAke the reader there and make them the character. (D.C., 1-24-98) excellent! (M.T., 1-10-98) The upmost beautiful chapter of this book was when Stephan comes in and tells Jennifer, "He's out there dying for you." I cried for weeks about that scene. It was so wonderful how he put aside all his hatred for his Jennifer. It was so refreshing to think about a man who makes sacrafices for his love and not the other way around. Jennifer's character was so well developed, I was really able to relate with her particullarly when she was praying to GOD. I could relate with completely! (I.A.Z., 6-4-97) This was the first romance novel I ever read and because of this I have been an avid romance reader for the past 5 years. I loved the wistful romance between Royce & Jenny. I didn't want it to end. Judith, do me a favor, write more books about this time period. I loved the adventure & the romance & wish to experience it again. I have never read a book that even held a candle to A KINGDOM OF DREAMS! (A.C., 6-3-97) Loved this one!! I liked it better than Whitney My Love. I love the period & the characters. Keep 'EM COMING!! (B.B., 6-2-97) Awesome book, unbelievable ending, but why in the world aren't there any reader coments for Whitney, My Love? (J.A., 4-20-97) I cried when I finished this book. Someday I'll find my kingdom of dreams too. I love the way he loves her. Isn't that what true love really is suppose to be? (X.H., 4-16-97) I read this book after reading all your other books and it was a BIG disappointment. I couldn't even finish it! I didn't like the story, the characters, the language. (A.S., 4-14-97) This is one of my all-time favorite romance books. I've read it over and over, my copy is quite dog-eared. This is also the first Judith McNaught book I have read and has made me a devoted fan. (T.L.R., 4-11-97) I don't know about this book. I bought the book a month ago and I'm still in page 30 something. I don't think i really like the plot of this book but I loved Whitney, My Love. It was one of the best books I ever read. (G.L.P., 4-5-97) I was reluctant to read this novel as the 1400 time period never interested me in the least, but I am glad I did. It is a great romantic novel that made me wish I was Jennifer many times! I never enjoyed romantic novels unitl I read Judith McNaughts. Keep up the awesome work! (S.R., 3-30-97) Whenever I can't sleep, I try to recall the events in the book. It never fails to make me feel better. I'm always wished that I am Jennifer. I just hope Ms. McNaught continues to write breathtaking and heartaching stories like this. (D.S., 2-15-97) All of Judith McNaught's book are equally outstanding and I've read them all. The best of romance novelists, her characters will capture your heart and do wonderful things to it. (L.F.P., 2-10-97) A Kingdom of Dreams was the best medieval romance I have ever read. McNaught has a knack for developing a strong, emotionally charged male hero. (N.G., 1-31-97) I LOVE historical romances! I had read Until You and Whitney,My Love first, then I read this about a year later. I had no idea when I bought it that they were all related! It was a very pleasant surprise and a terrific book. Please write more on this time period! (M.V., 1-19-97) A book with depth, believable characters, humor & wit, sorrow, courage and loyalty from a heroine who was taught to loathe the hero. I wish McNaught would write a few other medievals. She's just as good in Regencies, mind you, but I would love another one in the same vein as Kingdom of Dreams. (I.M., 1-15-97) I love the story, Royce Westmoreland and Jennifer Merrick! Thank you Judith McNaught. Please write more novels about the Westmorelands!:} (G.S., 1-12-97) This novel hooked me on Judith McNaught. She is the best!!!! When I finished this book, I immediately went to the bookstore and purchased her entire collection. (D.C., 12-4-96) The only author I ever seriously considered writing fan mail to. Her books make you life and touch your heart in a special and meaningful way. Read all her books!!! I have and love them all!! Another one please. (Y.R.H., 12-1-96) Kingdom of Dreams was an outstanding book. Iwish I could find more like it. The 1400's seems to be an awesome time and I hope to see more from this era and of the Westmorlands. My husband is a little irritated at the way I spend my spare time, but I have three small children and very little spare time so the time I have I use to read Judith McNaught and find it very enriching.I hope to see some of her books to become a movie. (S.H., 11-20-96) I couldn't put the book down, was a great escape for me. Iam now reading, "Whitney, my love. (M.H., 11-20-96) I finished reading only ten minutes ago! That was just GREAT! I fall in love with this book! Today I was trying to find 'Whitney my love' and 'Until you', but unfortunelly they are not translated in Russian! I am so unlucky! But I already read in Russian 'Perfect','Paradise'.'Tender Triumph' and 'Double Standards'. Judith McNaught is the GREATEST WRITER!Even my boyfriend likes her! Please, write more! We need it! (H.P., 11-19-96) Kingdom of Dreams is the best of all times. I wrote earlier and said Perfect was my all time favorite, well I have changed my mind. Royce Westmoreland is my all time favorite character. I hope to see a movie out of this book and another book dated back in this time period. My mother in law read this book also and is wanting to know what happened to Stephan and Brenna (S.S., 11-18-96) I enjoyed this book very much! It was fun and heart warming. I would recommend this book highly! (C.G.I., 11-18-96) Kingdom was my first romance novel and I am a devoted fan of Judith McNaught. The characters are wonderful and very spirited. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those who enjoy a great book. (C.G., 11-10-96) this is my all time fav j. mcnaught book! i love it and i always will.. the ending was superd and judith, pls continue to write more books... U're great! (A.D., 11-5-96) I never cared for historical novels until I started reading Judith McNaught's books. This book, like the rest of hers are a MUST READ!! I hope here next book comes out soon!! (L.T., 10-26-96) It was an extreemly unique idea. (C.L., 10-20-96) ANOTHER WINNER! (R.B., 10-14-96) Up there with Whitney. Great book. Keeper. (S.H., 9-30-96) I have a soft spot in my heart for McNaught books. Almost Heaven and Kingdom of Dreams were my first two "romance" novels. I enjoyed them so much I am now firmly entrenched in the historical romance genre! (M.D., 9-19-96) This was the 1st romance novel I ever read. It got me hooked. I have read it a dozen times and love it more each time. I have lent to all of my friends and they love it too. Please don't ever stop writting! (K.C., 9-18-96) So far all of Judith McNaught's books have been great stories, except Tender Triumph, that story didn't catch my heart like her others. Hope she writes more soon. Wish I had discovered her years ago. (L.S., 9-6-96) This is McNaught's best and one of the best romances I've ever read. Beautifully researched, excellent story, I'd recommend it to anyone - including those who "hate" romances. Just a wonderful book. (E.C., 9-6-96) It is nice to see women portrayed as strong in all of Judith McNaught's books (L.S., 8-16-96) Ms. McNaught never fails to touch her readers. I can't put her books down- she has the awesome ability to make me feel every word she writes. I hope to see her own web page soon ... and I can't wait for her new book to come out! (J.D.B., 8-15-96) Ms. McNaught needs a home page of her own for the faithful readers to keep in touch with her and her writings. (C.G., 8-8-96) 3 1/2 HEARTS??? I DON'T THINK SO! ALL OF JUDITH MCNAUGHT'S ARE 5 HEARTERS, INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY THIS ONE!! (L.M., 8-7-96) For all of you who loved Clayton and Whitney, then you'll love this one. Superb! Perfect! When you need a dream, a kingdoms of dreams is there for you! (L.T., 8-5-96) Readable, as are all of McNaught's books; however, I prefer her books set in Regency and even contemporary eras to this one. (E.P., 8-4-96)
