- Loved this book, I've read it a total of three times. I've been hooked on Karen Robards since the moment I read Amanda Rose over 15 years ago. (L.R., 2-3-98)
Great book! The characters were very true to life. Molly was very interesting. She's no superwoman, but a normal person trying to make the best of things. (K.M., 5-2-97)
I'm from Kentucky and it's great reading a book about the places you know. I would recommend this book to all my friends. Keep it up Karen, your the greatest! (R.P., 4-27-97)
Karen Robards new book "Heart Breaker" is another book that you will
truly enjoy. The suspense/mystery keeps the story moving. (S.M., 4-10-97)
I loved this book - it made me laugh and cry. I got hooked on Karen
after reading Walking after Midnight and now read everything I see with
her name on it. This is my favorite so far though - I was humming
Green Acre's for days after I finished this book and plan to reread it
again soon. (B.Z., 3-20-97)
Karen Robards always dilivers a great story. After you finish the book you miss the characters
I can't wait for her next one! (L.F., 3-18-97)
And enjoyable read. The heroine Molly is the type of person who has pulled herself up by her boot straps, and is trying to do the best she can for her family. An excellent example of a good 'bad girl'. I also enjoyed the spooky/mysterious plot line that didn't depend up the supernatural.
Will, as a hero didn't do much for me, although he's the type I'd probably be attracted to in real life. These two ascentially good people do a bang up job of solving the crime and falling in love. (I.B., 3-17-97)
The sense of suspense mingled with the realization of passion and love are a powerful combination in this book. Even my guys friends have read this and enojyed it! Always buy this author (S.J., 3-11-97)
For those of us who will actually read 3-star ratings, Karen Robards
is, for me, a classic three-star author. All of her books contain a
great moment or two, but for the most part when you finish, you put
the book back in the bag, and you think, "Well, that's done...."
HUNTER'S MOON is no exception. (S.R., 11-15-96)
This is probably my least favorite Robards' book. Good storyline, but did not feel the normal "sizzle" between the main characters. (D.C., 11-9-96)
I waited with bated breath for this book, but it left me flat. Skipped over some of the pages. Not like any of her other books, i.e. Maggie's Child or Walking which were really great contemp books. (P.S., 10-31-96)
This is a decent, if predictable romantic adventure, set in Kentucky horse country, like several of Robards's other recent books. Unlike those others, it even has a bit of setting development--though, don't get me wrong, Robards is no Dick Francis. She does share with him a tendency to nobler-than-life protagonists--here, it's the heroine--but that's more of a problem for Francis and nothing unusual in a romance. I'm glad Robards has switched to writing contemporary romances, since her historicals always contained annoying anachronisms (like the one set in 18C Ireland that opens on Dublin's O'Connell Street, which is named for Daniel O'Connell, who lived in the 19C!). But I believe even this book
contains an inaccuracy--Jay Leno (Tonight Show) does NOT air anywhere on
Saturday nights, as far as I know. (E.P., 10-30-96)
