Reader comments:
I LOVED THIS BOOK AND HAVE READ IT TWICE. I HAVE PASSED IT OM TO MY SISTER AND MOTHER-INLAW WHO BOTH LOVED IT. SOMETIMES WE JUST SAY LAUGHLIN AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT WE ARE THINKING. (L.F., 3-28-98) This is one of my favorite books I've ever read. If you read Threads of Destiny (If you can find it. It's out of print) this is where you first get a glimpse of Lachlan. To those who have thrown this book across the room, I say you've really missed out. It's great! (M.E.B., 3-7-98) Love her writing. Had to keep up with the clan all the way to True Heart. Can't wait for the next one! (C.T., 5-17-97) I really was sad at the end of this book, and found myself wanting to hear more about the Lachlan MacKenzie's children. The next day, I went to the bookstore, and found the trilogy, and when I read them, I felt a sense of closure. Highland Rogue was wonderful! (J.R., 4-19-97) I mystified as to why everyone goes on about Lamb's books. I have never finished any of the 3 that i started (including this one). they are written in a childish style, are inconsistent and she doesn't appear to be too worried about getting the historical facts sorted out correctly - propogating rubbish about the Scots heritage. i did throw one of them across the room in disgust. i can't remeber which one. (K.B., 3-4-97) This book is great entertainment! (L.M., 2-6-97) I liked this book. Although this singular book is not one of my favorites, others I have fallen in love with. Ms. Lamb is becoming one of my favorite writers. (K.B., 1-5-97) Ms. Lamb is in wonderful company with three of my other favorite authors,Jude Devereaux, Julie Garwood, and Jill Barnett, whom I also enjoy for the wonderful sense of humor and romance they create. I have continued reading Ms. Lamb's other MacKenzie books and have enjoyed each one. I was actually a little sorry to see the children grow up. Her hooks in these later books, concerning young Virgina, have me eagerly anticipating the next MacKenzie book. Thank you for the pleasure of reading them, Ms. Lamb. (B.Q., 9-22-96) Arnette keeps referring to Scottish as a language. 1st of all there is no such language as Scottish. There is a Scots Language, and there is the Language in Scotland called Gaelic. They are NOT one and the same. I like her story line, however, being a Clan Commissioner it bede'ils me tae nae end. If she's gang tae write aboot t' Scots people, then she maun get it richt. If you need a translation of Auld Scots dialect. Tis no Gaelic. Thank ye verra much. Also in Beguiled she said "My Lord" it should be M' Laird. Anthony McGowan- Assistant Regional Commissioner Clan Macpherson. (A.M., 7-19-96) I loved the story, especially the four children. There was enought mystery and intrigue to keep you guessing. (S.G., 7-16-96)
