- A really wonderful book. The first SEP book I ever read. The ending was hilarious as well. But why aren't there any reviews for "Kiss an Angel"? It's her absolute best book and if you only read one romance in your life, it HAS to be that. A beautiful ending with a satisfactory amount of grovelling from the hero. Superb. (L.T., 2-28-98)
Great Book! I love that it was humorous! One of my favorites! (D.B.B., 2-21-98)
I love all her books and even had the opportunity to pick up Hot Shots. It was also great..How do I get a copy of Risen Glory??? (K.M., 2-6-98)
Loved it! At first Phoebe was a little un-believeable, but then you kept turning the page to see what other stunts she pulls. I read "Nobody's baby" first, and can't decide which one I like best!! Keep 'em coming SEP!!! (D.L.P., 4-7-97)
I have now read 3 S.E.Phillips book, "Fancy Pants"-(funny, human and a
truckload of choatic, gut bending craziness from all over the world); "Nobody's Baby
but Mine" -hilariously sensual and crazy, and "It Had to be You" -erotic, fast-paced, and again
wonderfully crazy. I bow down before S.E.Phillips never to doubt her
creative genius ever. I am now on a search for every S.E.Phillips book
I can find!! (V.F., 2-20-97)
The best screwball romance I've ever read. Once I read this one I was hooked and had to read everything SE Phillips has written. (S.S., 1-9-97)
Fun, funny, unique. After reading this book, I immediately went out looking for all her others. (N.B., 1-3-97)
I met SEP at my neighborhood paperback trader by accident (her mother lives in my area) and tried to avoid her as soon as I realized she was an author. I hadn't read any of her books and didn't want to admit it! The owner cornered me and introduced us, so I tried to bluff my way through by asking after her mom, how she was enjoying her vacation, etc. She piped right up and said," Have you read any of my books?" Curses, I was caught! I could not tell a lie, had to say no. She bellowed, "Monica, give this woman one of my books!" I read "Heaven, Texas" and became hooked. I've read them all. "It Had To Be You" is delightful, and my next favorite after Heaven is Honey Moon. Definitely worth looking for! (V.T., 11-16-96)
I have read and loved all SE Phillips' books and this is BY FAR the BEST of them all!! It makes me laugh every time I pick it up, which is pretty often!! I highly recommend it!! (N.M., 11-1-96)
Great chrachters, no one does them better. Read it three times and I know I will again. (S.M., 10-19-96)
There are no words. I love football and this story was funny, romantic plus her secondary characters were a scream.
i was hooked from the first chapter. My boyfriend WILL read this!!He will never ask why
I like romance again!! A must read even for those who hate sports, it is pretty accurate and easy to understand. (C.D., 10-3-96)
I loved this book! (It is great to read while your husband watches football on Sunday). S.E. Phillips' next book is due out soon with the quarterback's story! I can't wait. (S.R., 9-30-96)
Ms. Philips is has a startling imagination, and nobody does the
good-girl-in-the-stripper's-body better. In this one, her
professional football research seems to hold up fairly well -- until
the end when she, unfortunately, lets her startling imagination punt
clear out of the stadium and into the next solar system. Give 'er a
three-pointer for effort! (S.R., 9-16-96)
It has funny, witty, expressive characters. I enjoy every minute reading it. (Y.P.F., 8-24-96)
I didn't like this book as much as Heaven,Texas as it had even more football
scenarios (I am not a football fan!). Still I really like this author and have
and find myself smiling and laughing aloud at her humor. Can't wait to read
more of her stuff! (S.R., 8-23-96)
Philips has a good sense of humor, but I still couldn't cotton to this book, in part because I'm not very interested in football, but mainly because the bimbo-masquerading, S&M-dressing heroine could not capture my interest or sympathies. (E.P., 7-6-96)
Very funny and entertaining especially for those women who also know a
little about football! I loved it!! (L.M., 5-28-96)
Another of Phillips' enjoying books. Once again I became totally involved with the characters. Her use of humor and involved plots never leave me wanting. I'm just waiting for another one. (S.K., 5-3-96)
I love all of her books.Went out and found them all. Fancy Pants was the first of hers I'd read and it was great. Her heros are so cool and masculine! It Had To Be You is my favorite -- I think! They are all great! Kissed By An Angel is her latest and is hot, another cool hero. (N.R., 5-3-96)
READ IT!!! This book is funny, fast-paced and LOL fun. I suggest reading Heaven Texas and Kiss an Angel after this one. Her writing is excellent and dynamic. (A.T., 5-2-96)
I had the same reaction as a lot of other people. This was the first of S.E. Phillips books that I have read and I had to read all her others. She's great! (J.J., 4-28-96)
I loved this book, even had my husband read it and he enjoyed it too. I always watch for new releases of SEP. (M.D., 4-8-96)
I discovered S.E.P. from this home page. Now I'm trying to find all her old titles, but they are nowhere to be found here in Berkeley. Any ideas? Also, is one of her books about golf? (L.F., 3-27-96)
Terrific! Really funny, very hot and you really get to like the characters, which is unusual in any type of fiction. (S.R., 2-29-96)
This was the first S.E.Phillips that I read and one of the best. I've
since read as many as I can get my hands on. Liked the humor and the
more complicated than usual characterizations. (S.M., 2-29-96)
Read Heaven, Texas first and enjoyed it a little more than this one,
but it was still great, from the opening scenes (her dog at the funeral) to the
closing ones. The romance between h/h was very hot. I think it says something
about seeing beyond surface appearances, too; who would have thought Dan and Phoebe could ever make it as a couple. Another keeper. (D.N-A., 1-13-96) I've read all S.E. Phillips and love her stuff, but this one is BY FAR the best of them all! I highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor and of the absurd! (N.M., 1-5-96) I normally HATE football, but I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I had to go out and buy all the rest of her books. A KEEPER. (A.H., 11-20-95) IT WAS SO WONDERFULL THAT AT THE USED ROMANCE BOOKSTORE I WORK AT, WE SOLD 130 COPIES AND STILL SELLING. WE EVEN HAD TO REORDER THE OTHER BOOKS SHE HAS WRITTEN. I RECOMEND THIS BOOK FOR ALL. IT WAS EVEN PASSED AROUND TO HUSBANDS AND BOYFRIENDS WHO ENJOYED IT SO MUCH THAT THEY GAVE IT
TO THEIR FRIENDS. (K.P., 11-18-95) Once again Ms. Phillips delivered a great read. As in her previous books, she has crafted her characters in a wonderful 3 dimensional style. After reading _any_ of her books, her characters live on and I don't want their stories to end! She's definitely a keeper. (C.U., 10-21-95)
I thought this book, and it's companion, Heaven, Texas, were wonderful, hysterical, and lots of fun. I wish I hadn't read them yet so that I could read them again. (A.N, 8-10-95)
This was the first book I read by this author. I had to go to all
the used bookstores in my area to try to find other books by this
author. I even met someone through the internet who sent me one of
her books (Fancy Pants). Ms. Phillips is one author that her books
are keepers. (D.K., 8-2-95)
This book along with its companion book HEAVEN,TEXAS is the best one to recommend to a first time romance reader. It had every element a reader wants in the perfect romance novel. (C.R., 7-30-95)
Fairly funny, very predictable. After all the good things I heard, I
guess my expectations were too high. (K.C., 6-30-95)
This book was a terrific read, humorous and fast-paced. I didn't want it to end! (J.I., 5-8-95)
